Amber's pov

"Beep, beep, beep.." my alarm clock started. I took a quick glance at it, 6:30 was shown in red. I grabbed the closest pillow to me, swinging it to the direction of the annoying noise.

'Crash!' I sat up quickly. Looking to see my new lamp on the ground, not surprised. I sigh, looking at the ground. Another regular school day.

I should tell you a little about myself. I live in a small town in Tennessee. Crossville, it's a small little city that's famous for its golf. I attend Roosevelt High since I've been a freshmen. I'm currently in my third year of school, a Junior year. Being 16 years of age, you may think I'm excited for Senior year, next year. Other than waking up early in the morning to get ready, I don't mind attending school. It keeps my mind off of various things at home. When saying various things, I mean my mom.

Being an only child and living only with my mom is as difficult as it is. With her partying and getting drunk every other day. I guess you can say my mom is just like any other teenage mom out there, trapped in an adult body. Let me give you an example.

I once had to bring her home in the middle of the night because she randomly called me up from who knows where.

"I'm no-," I her throwing up," coming home. I'm going to run away. See this is my boyfriend."
I hear her try to press the phone up against his ear but end up dropping instead. I heard a raspy voice finally talking into the phone,"Hello. I just wanted to say your daughter and I-." He paused. Assuming she accident called me instead of her mother. I waited for 10 seconds before i spoke,"Hello?"

"We are getting married and we are going to live happily ever after!"he yelled into the phone. I had to hold the phone away from my ear as sounds of cheering filled in the background. The cheering stopped, realizing they just hung up on me. Yup she's drunk...again. Driving for hours I finally found her at 3:00 a.m. She was partying at a loud club, that was not hard to miss.

Crawling inside, sneaking around the bouncer once he was distracted by some teenagers from my high school, showing him fake IDs. I searched the crowed for my mom. I finally spotted her making out with some guy who I assume was the guy who told me that 'they were getting married'.

To be honest she's been doing things much worst than this.
I believe the reason why she acts this way was because my dad left me when I was born, and she never truly quite got over it. When I ask about him my mom told me some random lie like 'he was a alcoholic or he's a drug addict.' Either way I always get a different answer when I ask. Grabbing her arm without saying a word to her. Leading her outside to the car.

I was aggravated and annoyed. She reluctantly tried pulling back but was too weak to do so. I even told her the next morning that it was the last time I ever was going to try and help her get out of the mess she made.

I always believed the reason why she's been acting like this was because of how my dad left us when I was born. Whenever I ask about him she's always told me he was a drug addict or an alcoholic. Giving up on asking because she would always make a different story up. One reason why I think she's not over him was because she would always come home with some random guy and start making out with him after drinking and sobbing over a picture she holds, hiding it in a secret place.
