New Eridu - Night

Night walks were something Relon Lucinance always was fond of. Of course, he'd been reminded countless times to stay out of the darker parts of the city where crime was likely to exist. That and be mindful of any figures following. As well as to stay in well lit areas. He's been reminded a lot about safety.

More so by Zhu Yuan than her father. Oh, the irony.

Well, Wise and his younger adorable sister, Belle, also warned Relon also but he was always careful so their worry was appreciated but not as much needed.

Reaching the shore's edge, Relon takes a seat eyeing the distant destruction. Aka; the Hollows. Destruction and only that lied on the other side. Every person alive knew of the Hollows and the Ethereals that roamed within.

"Huh?"

From the stars, a single crooked line manifests. Bit by bit, stems extend from its body giving off the sight of a branch. Next, came the rumbling.

"W-What the heck?" He gasped.

Further the branches stretched until it covered the entire sky. Screams of panic could be heard all around. Eyes moving frantic as he struggled to his feet, the moment he did, he fell back down tumbling towards the shoreline.

Dazed, Relon could only lookup as he caught sight of what could only be described as a comet; a white light exiting the white branch now soaring across the sky. Only it was veering alongside what could only be thought of as a black comet.

Black and white clashed, emitting a pulse of distortion, something he's seen and read that occurred in Hollows.

"I am Relon Lucinance, Protector of Solaris-3!"

"What... was that?" Clearly, it was his voice. Older, possibly, but definitely his.

As if battling, both light sources boomed across the terrain where Relon laid.

"For all the pain you've brought upon my home, for all you've done, I'll never forgive you!"

Again, another voice belonging to him but not being him!

"Ack!" He winced, his body shuddering and head aching from the sudden pounding sensation.

"Relon!"

Those layered voices...

Panic had finally set in, not for the danger that the city or Relon himself was in, but rather the two he cherished most were now. Head reeling upwards, he saw both Grace and Zhu Yuan rushing towards him, panic clearly written on their faces.

"G-Get back!" He urged through his own distraught.

Another flash. Another quake. Lights had begun to flicker as the screams only increased.

"You've taken away enough of our lives! I won't let you take away another!"

The pain was increasing, that much he could clearly grasp despite his muddled mind barely intact. He had recovered the same time as the two. Only he caught sight of it first.

A stray blast of light descending straight for the girls. And fast!

"No!"

Instinctively, his body moved. Regardless of the pain, regardless of what would happen to him! In that moment, the same dream resurfaced

"Not all Relons have good endings. Will yours?"

With each step, his body shuddered. Not from the dimensional impact both forces created, but from the mere thought of what would happen should either be harmed. Perhaps it was thanks to his matured frame of mind. Or maybe it was just simple logic behind his care for the two. Regardless, a world without both...
