(George's POV)
The sunshine burned through my eyelids. All I heard was someone yelling at me to wake up. "George! Wake up!" I felt my covers being thrown off me and I groaned. "Go away." I pulled my covers back up and turned on my side.
"I'll make you mac and cheese later." I perked my head up and slightly opened my eyes and saw Dream with a dumb smile on his face. "Fine," I said as I rolled out of my bed. Today I have to go to my mom's and see the twins. Dream told me he would stay the night with me and hang out, which I was more than ok with.
I walked to the bathroom and immediately got into the shower. The water was boiling but I didn't bother turning it down. After I got out of the shower I put on a gray hoodie with black sweat pants. I left the bathroom and went to my room to grab my phone. It was 10:24 and I planned to go to my mom's around 11.
I finished packing a small bag and dragged Dream out of the dorm so we could leave. I would get the twins a small gift from the store before I went to my mom's. "Can you please take me to Walmart before going to my mom's?" I asked Dream. He was going to be the one driving. "Of course." He nodded and threw our bags in the back seat.
On our way to Walmart Dream was taking glances at me, and I was doing the same to him. He pulled into the parking lot and parked close to the doors that said 'Home'. I got out of the car and we began walking.
"What do you need in here?" Dream looked at me. "I have to get the twins a gift and maybe one for my mom," I replied. "Maybe a bottle of wine." I shrugged and continued walking. "What about your dad?" My mouth dried out and it was more than a few seconds before I could speak.
"He died 3 years ago." I took in a deep breath. "George, I am so sorry for asking. I feel so bad." He stopped me before we could go into the doors. "Don't be sorry for me, Dream. I don't want you to be sorry for asking." After that there was silence, neither of us said a word as we walked into the store.
The twins are 7 so they don't need anything too expensive. I walk to the toy aisle and decide on a car Lego set for my brother, and a flower bouquet Lego set for my sister. "Hopefully they like them." I break the silence that was once there. "I'm sure they will love it, George."
I decided not to get my mom wine and settled on getting her a self-care basket instead. We walked over to the checkout and my total for everything was $74.82. "Damn, that's a lot of money." Dream laughed. "For my family, I'd spend every dime." I smiled.
We finished in the store and we walked back to the car. I was on the passenger side. I gave Dream the directions for the house and we drove.

The car ride was only 20 minutes, and we were now standing outside a large 2-story house with white panels, and a small cobblestone path leading to the dark wood door. "Wow." Dream looked at the house with amazement. We grabbed everything out of the back and walked up the path. I knocked my signature knock and waited for my mom to answer.
I watched the door swing open and my little sister standing there. "Gogy!" She yelled before running up to me and hugging my legs. "Hey! What did I tell you about answering the doors for strangers, young lady!" I could hear my mom stomp up to the door, surprised when I was the one standing there and not a stranger.
"Hey, snowflake." I patted my sister's head. Snowflake is a nickname only I call her. But her real name is Lilly. She stopped hugging my legs and walked back. "Oh, George, I didn't expect you to come over today." My mom walked over and suffocated me in a hug. "Me either." I pulled away and walked out of the way of Dream. " I brought Dream with me to stay the night if that's ok." She nodded. "Yes, yes, it's ok."
I and Dream walked in and set our stuff down before Lilly jumped in my arms and gave me another hug. "I missed you, Gogy. Mommy has been sad without you." She leaned back and looked at me. "I know, snowflake." I set her down and she ran upstairs.
"Hey, George, you're a good brother." Dream whispered into my ear. I looked up at him and my heart jump-started. "Thank you, Dream." I smiled and turned to my mom.
"I brought you a little gift because you deserve it." I pulled out the basket and handed it to my mom. "Oh, George." She set the basket down and pulled me into another hug. "Thank you." I could hear her sniffling.
"Gogy!" I could hear my little brother, Cam, yell. I pulled away from the hug that my mom held me in and turned to Cam. He ran up and hugged me. "Hi, my little cookie monster." I messed with his hair before he pushed me back and fixed it.
"Me and sissy missed you so much." He pouted. "I know, that's why I got you gifts." He jumped up and down while I grabbed the bag with the Lego sets in it. I handed Lilly hers first and then I gave Cam his. They both got excited and ran to the table to start building them.
"Thank you for this, George." My mom wiped a tear from her eye. "I'll let you two get settled while I make some food." She walked away to the kitchen and left me and Dream standing there. Dream grabbed mine and his bag while I led him up the stairs to my old room.
"Ok so if you want you can sleep in my room, I can take the guest." I opened the door and Dream set the bags on the bed. My room was exactly how I left it. It had blue and yellow posters all over the walls, my bed was a queen with dark navy blue blankets and white sheets, and my desk still had my computer on it as well as my little antiques Karl had gotten for me. Everything was still the same from how I left it.
I looked over at the window and memories fled into my mind from when I was 15. After everything that had happened, I changed my whole room, smashed the mirror threw away my sheets and blankets, and got a completely new mattress. It was like my fresh start.
I shook the memories out of my head and continued looking around. "You have a big ass room." Dream looked around the whole room with his eyes wide. "Yeah," I laughed. "everything feels so different here." I walked over to my closet and opened it, my clothes were still there, and my shoes were scattered all over the floor. I then walked over to my bathroom door and slowly creaked open the door, Dream followed.
There were towels neatly folded on the shelf, and my shower still had all my soap in it. My whole life I have always been organized so everything is perfectly in place. "This is crazy." Dream ran his hands down his face in disbelief.
"Ok, I'll let you get settled in here, but whatever you do, don't move anything out of place. I will just be across the hall in the guest room." I mostly wanted him to stay in my room because I didn't think I could handle staying in there. I just feel like the memories. will eat me alive and I would end up leaving anyway.
"No, George, this is your room." Dream argued. "I can't stay in here." He moved his hands around the entirety of the room. "Please, Dream, I can't stay in here," I whispered. "It's too soon." He nodded. "Ok fine." I walked out of the room with my bag and headed over to the guest room. It was like any other guest room, white walls with a small picture on the wall, the blankets and sheets were all white, and there was a mirror hung up on the back of the door.
I hung up my few clothes in the closet and plugged my charger into an outlet before walking back to check on Dream. I knocked on the door before walking in. He was also hanging up his few clothes on the other side of my closet. "Hey, I was wondering if you could take me and the twins around town and maybe do something?" I sat down on my bed. Dream looked over at me.
"Sure, why not."
"Thank you, Dream."
"Of course, George." He smiled, and the corners of his eyes crinkled up.
Today would be one interesting day with Dream and the twins. Let's just hope everything goes the way I want it to.
