The alarm clock beside his bed blared, and Naruto unconsciously crushed it—along with the table—due to his sensitive hearing and annoyance at being denied a good sleep.
Hearing no more noise, Naruto sighed blissfully as he pulled the blanket over himself.
THUD THUD THUD THUD
He heard footsteps running down the hallway. From the sound of it, at least three pairs of feet were heading toward his room. Strangely, the noise stopped just as they neared his door.

The door to his bedroom slowly opened.
Three small shadows crept inside, careful not to make a sound. They moved toward Naruto's bed, exchanged glances, and nodded in unison.
Pumping all their strength into their legs, they launched themselves into the air and landed on Naruto's face, chest, and stomach.
"GAHH!!"
Naruto narrowed his eyes at the shadows now cuddling on his chest, but when he quickly turned on the light, his expression softened.
"Luna, Alpha, Plume..." The girls waved and smiled at Naruto. Seeing them, he wrapped his arms around their small bodies, cuddling them closer with a contented sigh. "You girls are lucky you're so cute..."

The constructs nuzzled against him with smiles on their faces until they heard their master snoring again.
That wouldn't do.
It was past noon, and their master still hadn't woken up.
Luna frowned and turned to Alpha, who was locked in a glaring contest with Plume. Sighing, she separated the two and pointed at Naruto, who was back to sleep.
Nodding in agreement, they all slapped his face to wake him up.

"278 missed calls and 398 text messages...Anby, Billy, Belle, an unknown number...probably Nicole...and Sunbringer..." Naruto muttered with a swollen face as Alpha perched on his right shoulder, Plume on the left, and Luna sat atop his head, gripping his hair for balance. He played the video attachment Anby had sent him regarding Billy's performance.
"Hm... no problem with that... and here I thought it would turn Billy inside out when he ate those nasty things..." He replied to the messages, ignored the responses that came soon after and browsed a deep web forum, his eyes landing on a post from an unknown user asking for help to recover an item stolen by the Cunning Hares in the Hollow. The post mentioned that even their boss had gone missing.
