The next morning, Anushman woke up with a slight start, realizing he had dozed off without noticing. But, his lips curved into a smile as he saw her sleeping peacefully, her head resting on his chest, hugging him along with the kokkokam book.

Their feet were nestled beside each other—her tiny ones next to his larger ones. Gently, he lifted her and placed her on their bed, covering her with the quilt. He caressed her hair, kissed her forehead, and carefully took the book from her grasp. Placing it on the table, he chuckled, recalling how she had clung to it even in her sleep, before heading off to take his bath.

A few minutes later, she opened her eyes and looked around their chamber, adjusting the straps of her blouse. Leaning back against the headboard, her gaze fell on the book on the table. Smiling, she picked it up and placed it on her lap, flipping through the pages to see the pictures he had mentioned, as she wasn't in the mood to read.

"Azhagaaga ullaargalae."

(They look so beautiful.)

She admired the pictures of men and women in the book without fully understanding their meaning. But as she flipped through a few more pages, her eyes narrowed and then widened in shock. Her throat let out a gasp, and she trembled in fear, placing her hand on her chest.

When she curiously examined the book with a look of confusion inbetween her frequent gulps, she jolted on hearing,

"Enna paarthu kondriukiraai, Vizhi?"

(What are you looking at, Vizhi?)

She quickly closed the book and looked at him, frightened. Hastily placing the book back on the table, she covered herself completely with the quilt and lay down on the bed when she noticed that he was wearing only a white garment around his waist that extended to cover his legs, leaving his upper body bare.

He chuckled at her reaction but soon grew concerned that she might feel uncomfortable seeing him bare. Sitting beside her on the bed, he draped a long towel around his neck, letting it hang down to partially cover his upper body. He tried to lift the quilt from her face, but she clung to it, whining something he couldn't quite hear.

"Vizhi. Enna nadandhadhu? Enna kisukisu'kiraai, enakku ondrum puriyavillai, balamaaga pesu"

(Vizhi, what happened? Why are you whispering like this? I don't understand anything. Speak clearly.)

But when she continued to whisper, he leaned down closer to the quilt to hear her better.

"Thaangal ingirundhu sellungal"

(You please leave from here)

He heard her words and narrowed his brows, straightening up slightly while still leaning over her, who was under the quilt, and asked,

"Yen? Enna aanadhu?"

(Why? What's wrong?)

"Mgum"
