Chapter 9 - Hunting

– Mia's pov –

I felt the rays of sunshine in my eyes and closed them tightly before realizing that two strong warm arms were around my waist, holding it tightly. My face turned bright red and I faced the person who was beside me. I slightly shook him and he groaned, "Paul.." I said calmly. "Mhm?" he murmured and slowly opened his eyes. I hesitated a bit before talking, I didn't know how he'd react, "I have to go hunting.." I blurted out and he quickly opened his sleepy eyes, now wide. "What?" He asked, surprise written all over his face. "Yeah.." I whispered while getting out of his grasp and getting out of my bed. I walked over to my closet and took a new pair of panties, grabbed my bra from yesterday, a raisin tank top and a low rise denim shorts. I entered my bathroom, leaving Paul still in shock in my bed.

I took a quick bath, did my skin care and brushed my hair and my teeth. Paul quickly got out of the bed, still shirtless. I looked him up and down and a blush spread across my already red cheeks. "You know you're-" He interrupted me, "You have to hunt?" He asked and I slowly nodded looking around the room for something. I started to walk around the room and found it, my earbuds, they had been missing for over a week. "You do know I'm a trihybrid, right?" I asked and watched his eyes widening, "I guess your sister mentioned it to me." He replied, making me remember my sister, the one I hadn't seen in months. My dear sister.
"Mia, are you okay?" He asked and I snapped out of my trance, "Yeah-" I shook my head, "I have to go though." He nodded and I sprinted downstairs, to find Embry there.

"Hey.." I greeted him with a wide smile, but he didn't return it, he just glared at me. "Are you going to ignore me forever?" I asked and he shook his head. "Mia, you hurted Jacob." Tears stung my eyes at the mention of him. "Embry..that was never my plan. I love Jacob, just not how he wants me to.." I stated and he moved his gaze to the person that was walking down the stairs behind me. I turned around and found Hope, glaring at me as she pulled Paul downstairs. "Good morning.." I murmured embarrassed. I sat in a chair, "Mia, can I talk with you?" Before I could react she pulled me into a room, "What the fuck?!" I shuddered at her scream, "You slept with Paul?!" She asked and I knew that the boys were hearing her screams, they were loud enough for the whole forest to hear. "No, I didn't sleep with him." I started, "We didn't do anything. You know how I was feeling without him." I said the last part a little louder, cursing myself because I knew that they could hear everything we were arguing about. "And the whole fucking imprint thing, just like you with Embry and Quil." I stated, my voice more like a whisper now. "We have to go hunting, so shush him out." I said and she reluctantly nodded.

"Embry," She called out as we left the room, both of the boys with wide eyes. "I'll call you later." She said and his face turned into a sad expression. He placed his plate on the dishwasher and took his sandwich with him, giving Hope a hug before walking out. "Paul," I called out, "You too." He nodded and got up to kiss my cheek, I blushed at his action. He smirked and left, leaving me alone with Hope, "Did Embry sleep over?" I asked and watched as she blushed, signalizing a 'yes' to me.

We hadn't hunted in a while. I knew that if we didn't do that at least three times a month we would eventually die. We were searching for an animal, more specifically a deer. We were walking slowly, and reached our prey. Hope nodded at me and we attacked the poor deers, I stuck my teeth in its skin. Hope followed the other and did the same as me. I felt energy running through my veins, I was feeling alive again. When I finished drinking all of his blood, my teeth were covered with a bright blood color.
