Twins are a rare and extraordinary phenomenon in the Omatikayan clan, and indeed in all of Pandora. Typically, the Na'vi give birth to a single child per pregnancy, so the arrival of twins is a momentous and highly celebrated event. When Neteyam and Jo'vari entered the world, the Omatikayan clan was abuzz with excitement and joy. The entire community came together to honor this rare occurrence with a grand celebration that seemed as though it would go on forever. Although the twins were a bit smaller than average at birth, the clan's jubilation was undiminished, and the festivities held in their honor became the stuff of legend, still talked about with great fondness to this day.

Jake Sully and Neytiri, the parents of the newborn twins and the revered Tsahik and Ole'eyktan of the Omatikaya clan, were both elated and somewhat apprehensive as they embarked on the journey of parenthood. While their roles as leaders of the clan bestowed upon them immense responsibility, this narrative shifts focus away from their esteemed positions to center on their children, particularly their first-born daughter, Jo'vari.

Jo'vari was a striking mirror image of her mother, Neytiri. She inherited her mother's distinct and captivating features, including the same large, luminescent yellow eyes that seemed to hold a world of wonder, and the same warm, bewitching smile. As Jo'vari grew, her resemblance to Neytiri only became more pronounced, not just in appearance but in demeanor and disposition. Her adoration for her mother was palpable, and Jo'vari never wished for any other figure in her life—her love for Neytiri was complete and unwavering. Similarly, her bond with her father, Jake, was filled with affection and respect.

But her siblings...

"It's mine, give it back!" Maybe that was Lo'ak.
"I had it first!" No, that also sounded like Lo'ak.
"No it wasn't!"
"That doesn't make sense!"

Peering over the root of the great tree, Jo'vari watched as Kiri and Lo'ak wrestled over a small wooden toy. The two younger Na'vi were tugging and pulling with such fervor that Jo'vari could see the toy was in imminent danger of breaking if they didn't stop. With a resigned sigh and a dramatic roll of her eyes, Jo'vari straightened up, putting on an air of maturity that belied her actual age. Though she was only a year or two older than Kiri and Lo'ak, she often acted as though she were far older. Initially, this pretense had allowed her to stay up later, but Jo'vari discovered that adopting a grown-up demeanor also earned her more respect from the adults around her.

In the close-knit Omatikayan clan, everyone was familiar with one another. Jo'vari might not have been able to name every single clan member, but she was well-known in return. As the daughter of Neytiri and Jake Sully, she naturally attracted attention and recognition. When Jo'vari displayed her mature behavior, the other Na'vi often praised her to her parents, which only reinforced her want and pure need to continue acting older than she was.

This habit of embracing an adult persona persisted well into her later years, shaping much of her identity. The inclination to be seen as mature remained with her for a remarkably long time—so much so that it continued to influence her even in her later years.

Among the other children she grew up with was Spider, the skybaby who had become a part of their clan after being stranded on Pandora. Despite being well-known, Spider was a somewhat slow and cumbersome presence, easily outrun by Jo'vari no matter how much of a head start she gave him. The clan was aware of Spider's origins, including his father, who was a member of the sky people—a fact that Jo'vari was taught to avoid discussing. Her mother, Neytiri, had reservations about him due to his connections with the sky people, but Jo'vari understood that her father, once also from the sky people, had become a respected leader of the Omatikaya clan. This gave her hope that perhaps Spider wasn't as bad as he seemed.

However, to retrace our steps, the pivotal moment in Jo'vari's maturation came with the birth of her youngest sister, Tuktirey, affectionately known as Tuk...
Tuk, with her bright and exuberant personality, quickly became the center of Jo'vari's world. When Tuk was just a few years old, a new star appeared in the night sky, marking an unsettling time for the clan. That evening, Jo'vari's parents returned home in a state of slight panic, which Jo'vari soon realized was due to the arrival of the sky people.

It was on that night that Jo'vari felt a profound sense of responsibility. She resolved that it was her duty to protect her family—Neteyam, her twin brother; Kiri, her brother; Lo'ak, her brother; and Tuk, her youngest sister. This realization solidified her determination to become a warrior and safeguard those she loved. From that moment forward, Jo'vari was driven by a deep-seated sense of purpose to defend her family and ensure their safety.

It was then that Jo'vari knew it was her purpose to become a warrior for her family.
