Harry glanced up at Draco. His white-blonde hair was slicked back, not a hair out of place. He was already dressed in his robes, but there was no house symbol to be found. Slytherin, Harry thought; just like what Mom and Dad described.
Harry nodded in Draco's direction, then walked past him and into the compartment where he had stored his trunk. He opened a window, letting in clean, fresh air.
"Hello. Mind if I sit with you?"
Harry looked to the door of his compartment. A red-headed boy about the same age as him stood in the doorway.
"Blimey, are you Harry Potter?" The boy was in awe.
"Uh, yeah," He gestured to the seat across from him. "Go ahead, sit down."
"Thanks. I'm Ron Weasley, by the way."
"Nice to meet you," Harry replied, his parents' words rattling in his brain. "Be polite," Lily had said. "And don't forget to say hi to Remus. He teaches DADA, you know. Oh, and your godfather! He's Gryffindor's quidditch coach!"🇬🇧
The rattling of a trolley rolling through the train excited Harry and Ron.
"The trolley's full of candy, you know. If you have any money you can buy some."
"Well do you have money?" Harry asked; he had money in his pocket, and planned on buying his newly found friend something if he didn't have any money.
"Nah, I don't have any."
Harry stood up and slid open the compartment door, but Ron wasn't behind him.
"Well, are you coming?"
"I told you, mate, I don't have any money," Ron explained.
"No, but I do. How do you like chocolate frogs?"🇬🇧
As Harry and Ron dug into their chocolate, there was a knock on the compartment door, and it slid open. There was a girl of their age standing in the doorway, with big, brown hair, dressed in her robes already. Harry and Ron froze; their mouths were full of chocolate.
"Do you mind if I sit here?" She asked. "The people that were in the other compartment were being quite rude. I'm Hermione Granger, by the way."
"Wuv wum of vem mamed Maffoy?" Harry asked, trying not to accidentally spit chocolate everywhere.
Hermione looked slightly disgusted before she spoke, then a smug look spread across her face. "Yes, actually. I suspect he'll be in Slytherin. He told me he was a pureblood, and called me....nevermind."
"Wut did ee caw oo?" Ron asked.
"He called me a mudblood, if you must know." She looked at Ron almost as if someone had pointed their wand at her and said Confundo! "You've got dirt on you nose, by the way. Did you know?"
