"MOMMY!" Kassie smiles, running up to me as I walk into Samuel's apartment

"Hi baby!" I say excitedly "I've missed you so much! Were you a good girl for daddy?!"

"She was angel, huh princess" Samuel smiles

"No meltdowns?" I ask him

We had finally been sharing custody as much as we could and she'd been at Samuel for the past two days, there had been a ton of meltdowns over the last few months especially when we were at home and she'd miss one of us

"A few, she missed you, and we lost blankie for a bit, other than that she was good and the potty trainings been going good too, no accidents, and she hasn't been sucking her thumb as much"

"Oh good job princess! I think that deserves some ice cream and a new toy!" I praise hugging her tightly as she giggles

"Hey princess, do you want to show mommy what you learned?" Samu asks her as she nods

"Oh you learned something new?"

"Can you tell mommy what your name is?"

"Kasshie!" She says proudly, looking at me

"Yes! It's Kassie baby! Oh you're such a smart girl aren't you?" I say making her laugh "are you ready to go? Can you go say bye bye to daddy?"

"No bye bye" she says tearing up

"We have to go baby, I know you miss one of us when you're at the others house but daddy has to go to school" I explain

"No bye bye!"

"Come on baby, we have to go" I sigh "I know you don't like saying bye bye baby, but we have to" I say as she pouts

"Come here noodles" Samu tells her, taking her from my arms as she sobs

"No bye bye"

"I know baby! But I promise I'll see you really soon okay?"

For any other baby, they might be fine saying bye to their parents for them to go to work or school, they know they'll see them in a couple of hours, but unfortunately for my Kassie that was far from the reality, she knew that when it came time to say bye, she wouldn't see one of us in a few days. I hated that this was a normal reaction for her, I hated to see her miss us and have meltdowns just because she missed one of her parents but unfortunately that was just reality and we hated to say bye to her too

"No bye bye!" She sobs, shaking her head as she looks at her dad

"I have to go baby" Samu sighs, holding her tightly and kissing her head "if mommy is okay with this, I'll come over tonight to spend some time with you and mommy and I will put you down to bed together okay?" He tells her wiping her little cheeks "I love you baby, I'll see you real soon"

"Come on pumpkin" I tell her, trying to take her from Samuel but she holds on tight to him

It was always a hassle saying goodbye, she'd done the same with me two days ago

"Come on pumpkin, daddy's gonna be late, i promise he'll come over for dinner" I sigh, Samuel gives her one last kiss before he hands an upset baby to me and hands me her blankie

The blankies pretty much the only thing that comes with her, everything else we either own two of and she has enough clothes at both of our places, but there's only one blankie, she only likes that one

"Can you wave bye bye to daddy?" I ask as she nuzzles up against my chest, upset

She gives him a little wave while she continues to cry, it's just as hard to take her away as it is to watch her leave, the last thing we want for her is to have a bad relationship with one of us or for her to think Samuel and I hate each other which is far from the truth
