Lorna Carrington didn't raise a stupid child, yet her actions sometimes spoke otherwise. If the dead were given a chance to meet their loved ones for one last time, Cassie guessed most of them would have shared tears and sweet words with their families and friends. If Lorna had been given the chance to come back to see the situation her daughter got herself into, she would drag Cassidy out of the country by her hair.

A shiver ran through the young woman's body as she could picture that scenario in her mind, shaking her head to get that thought out of her head, she put down the pen next to the paper. Cassidy Carrington considered it one last time, before sliding the signed contract back to the man on the other side of the desk. He took the files into his hands to quickly check whether everything was done, then nodded, looking up, his eyes meeting with Cassidy's.
