When I got home I couldn't sleep, so I sat outside on the porch thinking about life in general. I took a sip from my freshly brewed coffee. It tasted of sweetness, with a hint of vanilla.
I thought about life in general, of everything up to where I am now. My parents died at a young age which led to me be put in foster care. I had been with a lovely couple. They were wonderful parents to me and we are all close, which meant more to me than anything. I was thankful to of been put into a wonderful family. They were unable to have kids, so I was the only child in the home.
When I turned eighteen I got this apartment. They were so proud of me considering many people in this town had stayed with their parents longer, which was fine but they were happy that I was on track in life, at least for getting an apartment.
My phone buzzed causing me to lose my thoughts. It was a text from Liam.
"Hi Emily, it's Liam. No pressure, I just wanted to let you know I'll be performing tonight, if you'd like to come. It will be held outside. It's the place just before you get to the arena on broadway."
This seemed like pressure to me in a way unless I was overthinking it.
"I'll think about it!" I texted back.
I went inside to take a hot shower. The warmth felt nice against my skin. I could stay in the shower for hours at a time though it never happened.
I checked my phone to see a reply from Liam.
"In case you do, I'll have a ticket there for you. You won't need to pay." He texted.
It was generous of him, but I was still unsure of going or not.
"Thank you!" I texted back, not knowing what else to say.
It was a last minute decision where I thought it wouldn't hurt to check out the place. I parked my car in the parking lot, which was fully packed except this one and only empty space.
It was beautiful outside. The smell of flowers lingering in the air, the sun shining brightly and the heat making me almost too hot for what I was wearing.
I walked up to where the tickets were being sold. I wasn't sure how this was going to work but if I had to pay for a ticket, I wouldn't mind.
"Hi, my name is Emily Carter, by any chance is there a ticket reserved for me." I asked the young blonde woman at the booth.
"Emily Carter! YES! You are one lucky woman. You have a V.I.P pass." She said with excitement as she handed me the pass.
"You're in the front row!" The woman finished saying.
"Thank you!" I said, giving her a warm smile.
Liam went out of his way to get me a VIP Pass? I guess he really had faith that I would show or he wanted to show me that he was interested, or maybe both? My mind was spinning but I decided to push those thoughts away for my sake.
It took me ten minutes to find my place up in the front row. The show was about to start guessing by how crowded it was with young girls freaking out with excitement, screaming, and taking random selfies or just about anything.
Not long after, Liam came out on stage and everyone screamed. I had to cover my hears as I wasn't used to this. I had never been to a concert for one reason only, large crowds made me nervous.
"Hey everyone! This is a new song I wrote recently! I hope ya'll will love it." Liam said into his mouth piece, whatever it was called.
He started singing and I felt chills instantly. His voice was smooth, a bit calming actually and I was surprised already by how beautiful his voice is. I watched him sing, moving his body here and there to the rhythm. For once, I found myself swaying to the music.
Liam's eyes landed on me and it was the first time I had seen him smile like this. Though it could have been because of his fans, that's why I led myself to believe.
After two hours of listening to Liam sing, moving his hips and jumping around the stage, the show came to an end and everyone started to leave. Taking a deep breath, I started to follow the large crowd of people, slightly nervous and wanting to get out of here.
"Emily Carter!" Someone called out to me, causing my heart to race. Shit. Please don't have a panic attack, not here, not now.
I turned around to see a man who appeared to be very fit. Right, it was a body guard.
"Um, yes? How do you know my name?" I say awkwardly.
"You are the only one Liam had reserved a VIP pass for. Your pass is the only one that's purple, the others are blue." The body guard said.
I took a quick look around. The VIP passes I seen were blue, mine was purple. How did I not notice this before.
"Follow me, Liam wants to see you. He's in his trailer." He said.
His trailer? Shit. What am I getting myself into? Without thinking, I followed the body guard.
