Audrey's POV
I sat by the window watching the rain droplets fall to the ground as tears fell freely from my eyes, The hunger pangs in my stomach were a persistent reminder that I needed to find something to eat but sadly I was out of groceries and I couldn't and will not go out there without any assurance I won't be shot on sight, I have not been able to move anywhere since last night, the fear of being killed is just a feeling I can't seem to shake off. Mrs.Rachel called earlier this morning but I couldn't bring myself to tell her anything even though my whole insides screamed otherwise, what if she gets killed too, I can't let that happen.
The loud banging on the front door pulled me out of my reverie as fear gripped me, 'he is here for me again', 'Is he really going to murder me in my own home?' , 'I don't want to die, not yet', the thoughts running through my mind fueled my racing heart as I frantically searched for a way out without using the front door, 'maybe I could just climb down from the window', I thought moving as soon as the thought crossed my mind, a few injuries cannot be compared to a bullet to the head right?. With that thought in mind I quickly tied a few blankets together making sure it was tight enough to bear my weight, with one last glance around my room I took a deep breath putting my left leg out first,
"Come on Audrey, you got this" I prepared myself as the height got to my head,
"I wouldn't do that if I were you" Just as I was about to cross over completely a voice spoke up behind me startling me as I slipped eliciting a scream from me preparing myself for the impact of the fall,
"You can open your eyes now" the voice spoke up again after what felt like minutes but was actually a few seconds as I slowly realized I wasn't feeling any sort of pain from the fall meaning...,
"Don't touch me" I shrieked quickly moving away when I realized he caught me,
"You are welcome" he replied a bored look on his face as he stared at me while I acted like he had infected me with his hands,
"Are you done?" he asked in a dry tone after a few minutes,
"Is this point where you kill me already?, because if you are going to kill me I would advise you to make it quick" I spat out trying to sound strong despite the fear in my heart,
"Kill you, I wish" he scoffed,
"What does that even mean?" I asked staring at him skeptically,
"Pack whatever it is you will need for the next few months that cannot be easily replaced and by that I mean personal belongings that are important to you or something so no unnecessary clothes" he suddenly said in a bored tone like he was simply talking about the weather,
"Uhm, I don't... understand" I stuttered staring at him wide-eyed,
"You have less than fifteen minutes, your time is already counting so if I were you I would get moving" he replied his eyes wandering around the room but somehow he was still looking at me, something about this guy was creepy and scary but I have a feeling he is not the one after my life, right?
"You must be delusional to think you can just waltz into my room which I still don't know how you made it in with all the locks and think I would just up and follow you, if want you kill me just kill me here so my parents can at least find my body" I shot at him anger and irritation slowly flooding my system, he stared at me a little, a slow dark smile forming on his face as he walked towards me causing me to back away carefully,
"Trust me Blondie, if I was here to kill you, I wouldn't even have graced you with the opportunity of seeing my face" he whispered right behind my ear, goosebumps slowly spread through me as I shivered a little to shake it off, yup definitely creepy.
