"You will have to leave the White Room."

These were the words I heard from that man.

It's unprecedented. I don't even know why. If I was going to drop out, then I guess that's it.

"It's more or less a perfect time for you to do so anyway. You won't receive any education for a while. The entire facility is going to shut down for a year.

But you'll have to do sonething."

I listened to my instructor, that man's words. It seems I won't drop out just yet.

"You will be enrolled in Kunigaoka Junior High School. Specifically, Class 3-E, where the most defective of students are. I've already enrolled you there.

You will have an assignment to do while you're there.

Kill the monster that is residing there."

"Kill? As in actually kill?"

"Yes. Take that literally."

That's an order. So I just took it and accepted.

"This monster moves at Mach 20, he is highly intelligent

Normal weapons don't work with him. You'll have to use special weapons that can kill him.

You'll have an entire year for this. Do not mess it up. Otherwise, the world gets destroyed."

The world gets destroyed huh...

If he can move in that speed, then surely his reaction time must be great too. Not only that, but he may be highly intelligent too.

Isn't this impossible? In one way or the other?

It's like an infant trying to outrun a cheetah.

Not like I can do anything about it. I don't even know what my target looks like.

"Who is this monster I have to kill?"

That man grabbed a bit of documents, then handed it over to me.

I saw a picture of the person I was supposed to kill.

Or rather, monster.

A yellow octopus, fully round face, with a big smile on its face. Their yellow tentacles replacing its arms and legs.

The creature is wearing a black academic dress, with a black academic cap. As well as a large black tie, with a yellow-crescent shaped moon on it.

"You will kill the teacher that will teach you."

I just nod in response, accepting what impossible mission was lended to me.

"In that note, you will visit the real world for the first time."

It's not like I wasn't curious. In fact, I was interested to learn more. But I didn't feel anything, it didn't really matter much to me.

What mattered is if I failed or not.

I've been living in the White Room for over 14 years now, and I've aged to someone who is a Third Year Middle Schooler.

The real world was different from the virtual world I saw back then in the White Room, but I found myself accepting this more comfortably than I had thought.

I'm not sure if this was due to the curriculum or something else.

While I was waiting in an empty room, as instructed by one of the staff, I was approached by someone I had never seen before.
