The assassin watched over the crowd from his vantage point.

It was the 24th of February; the target was in the grandstand 3 yards away.

'Perfect' he thought

The assassin took everything in through the visor of his helmet, the temperature and the number of people in the crowd.

'A successful killer takes everything in' he mumbled

The assassin was Joshua Netherton a young boy barely at the age of thirteen. He had a lot riding on this contract; his client had offered a substantial amount of money if he was successful, plus another contract as a bonus. Half the crowd cheered and half the crowd booed, no one heard the gunfire that followed but plenty saw the blood splatter on the wall.

Josh stood in the shadows while Rebecca Henderson answered the phone, he knew what the call was about, and soon enough he watched Rebecca burst into tears and scream how unfair it was that her husband had been taken from her, it would've made him feel sorry for her if it wasn't an act.

'Sorry 'bout that' Rebecca said.

'No problem' he replied

She stared at him awhile, looking him over.

'By the tone you're using I guess you don't mind getting your hands bloody' she said.

'Seems like a reasonable guess to me,' he said shrugging.

'How old are you?' She asked.

'Thirteen years old'.

She seemed surprised by this, but he knew that it wasn't every day that a thirteen year old boy became a killer for hire.

'Would you be interested in spilling more blood?' Rebecca asked.

A flash of pain entered Josh's mind at the thought of blood, he began to fade to the dark corners of his mind as Darkus took control.

'What?' Darkus's rasping voice replied 'did you have in mind'

Darkus had began to grow inside Josh's mind ever since his family had been murdered, he did get a little payback but the killer ran..... And was still on the louse, Darkus is Josh but at the same time he isn't. Darkus is Josh without his emotions: he feels no love, no sorrow, no pain, nothing. He's Josh with no humanity. At times he'd say things in Josh's head concerning contracts or would just make little jibes and taunts.

'I would like to make you an offer' Rebecca said

'Go on' Darkus replied

'I would like to offer you a place in my little... Family.'

'What kind of family?' Darkus asked

'A family like you and I of course.' She said 'A family of killers.'
