her phone rung, and rung, and rung.

"eliza! please answer the stupid phone!" alaric saltzman, her daddy dearest, called from the living room. "just break it off!"

she'd moved to mystic falls weeks ago, in those weeks she found out her (ex) boyfriend; klaus mikaelson had been a vampire looking to double up in species, has possessed her dad and looked through her panty drawer.

her father had decided to distance himself from her (she had no idea why), and when he found out she had a half sister named elena, who looked way more like her mother than she did, she no longer existed in his orbit. elena, on the other hand, was the sweetest.

her friends though...

caroline forbes was a nuisance, and rude as fuck.

bonnie bennett could suck her dick, hellbent on believing she was here to replace elena for some reason.

damon salvatore was a pedophile. a funny one, but a pedophile none the less.

and stefan salvatore was her favorite. hands down.

she noticed he'd change his personality around her, act more carefree and take the stick out of his ass for a bit before plugging it back in when his brother was around. she truly felt bad for him.

"no." she drawled back to her father.

how he heard her she has no idea, but he came storming in and snatched up the phone, hitting call and holding it up to his ear, "hello klaus... no she would not like to come to the pho - " she snatched her phone out of his hand.

she calmly said, "go kiss elijah's ass." and hung up.

"cut the guy some slack, elizabeth. he loves you."

"he perved on me in your skin," she said, deadpanned, looking at her father through her eyelashes. "he can die for all i care."

"alright then," he sighed, trying to hide the smile on his face. okay yes, the entire situation was gross, but eliza was his kid, and goddamn funny kid she was. "good night, mrs. hamilton."

"dad," she mumbled as he tucked her in like she was a child, he hummed. "why do you love elena more?"

"oh 'liza."

alaric saltzman was a weak man, a man who fell in and out of love at a rapid pace. the only person he's ever loved since the start, and never fell out of love with, is his daughter.

elizabeth (hamilton) saltzman was the cutest little thing in the world, and she remained so as he closed the door behind him.

he, definitely, didn't love elena more than his child, no way. but he had been giving her more attention, since she was going through a lot after her aunt, his girlfriend's terrible death. and eliza had no idea her ex-boyfriend had killed her.

she'd found out about klaus's dietary issues far too late, but he couldn't be the one to tell her her first love was a vampire. and his wife had told him to let it be. he was a vampire hunter, but he wasn't a heartbreaker, and he was not about to start with his little girl.

point was, she inevitably found out and had been on a rage ever since. the only people that weren't on the other side of her wrath were elena, jeremy, and stefan.

his daughter never did do jealous, but she did do petty.

she'd acknowledged that in the case of her not receiving his attention; he was the problem, not elena.

he loved that his daughters were getting along, didn't matter that he may have lost one in the long run.

"daddy?" her little girl voice was out.

she's had a bad dream.

"can i join you?"

he hadn't lost her, yet.

"come on in, princess."
