Asiye runs and runs, and runs, until she met a wall and couldn't find a way to turn to. Only then she stopped and put her forehead against the cold concrete of the white wall of school corridor. Her cheeks were aflame, her thoughts scrambled, her lips... Her lips were burning in almost painful way.
Sarp Yilmaz kissed her. He had kissed her!
What on earth he had thought? Why he had done that?
Asiye breathes, trying to regain her composure. Moving her hands to her cheeks, she slaps herself, calming down.
Oh no, she had slapped him! Oh no, no, no... Why she had done that? She shouldn't had slapped him, he was going to be mad and if she knows something about Sarp, is that he does crazy things when he's mad.
What now? What she should do now?
Asiye, calm down. You've just caught him unattended in teacher's room and his excuse has been shit, so you have nothing to worry about. It's not like he would bid it important that he practically shut you up with a kiss. And would you call it a kiss?
Yes, your lips touched, and yes he had stole your breath for a moment, but it was just of the surprise, right? Of course it was.
You hates each other and he had kissed you because he wanted you to shut up, it's all. Totally.
It's nothing.
***
It's not nothing.
Asiye felt Sarp's eyes following her like a hawk for a week now.
The more she ignored him, the more he had tried to catch her attention. He calls her curls as a hello, sits down with them on lunches, feigning new found interest in his sister's art project that Yasmin was doing with her and Aybike, and lastly he enters them as a pair for next math quiz.
Them. Like him and her.
Crazy.
She protested of course, but Mrs. Dongun already signed them and nothing she would say, could move her on the topic.
So, it only left her to send daggers through her eyes toward Sarp, who had only winked and told her to see him in library after last period.
"What's going on with Sarp lately?" Aybike asks her just after his last performance on math lesson, but having nothing to say, Asiye just shrugged her shoulders and focused on her calculus almost breaking her pencil in half.
Their last lesson this day was the most awaited moment of her entire week. This was the day when the results of the contest that could decides of her be or not to be to of entering collage with stipend.
"I've read all of your presentations... And it was surprising to see that some of you actually have something to say on the topic, and yes I'm saying that to you Mr. Ogulcan Eren" Ogulcan mumbled something as if there were literature project about football, he would be a winner, that everyone ignored. "But only one of your work catches my attention enough to put it further to contest in national and it was yours, Ms. Eren" Ms. Filiz stands just before Asiye putting her work on her desk, making her squeak with joy.
"Thank you, miss" Asiye says, as Aybike hugs her from the side, when she was still gazing on the beg red "5" written on her paper.
"Good job, Asiye" teacher says, moving to the front of class dispensing others works as she walks.
No later than a minute later on her desk landed a note from her front - "still thinks that I was trying to mess with it, huh?" Asiye blinks at the note, then moves her gaze to the back of Sarp's head, sticking her tongue out.
"I saw that" second note says.
"I'm not saying sorry, you always do something shady" she scribbled back and making a roll out of the note, she puts under his collar. Sarp laughs after a moment, when he has a chance to take out the note as no one's attention was on him.
"I was innocent and you accused me without evidence, but truth is, something naughty happened that day" the next note made her gets red as an apple in seconds. Asiye took a calming breath, trying to find something to write him back and not let him win a last word.
"Innocent is not a word in your vocabulary" she writes back, this time actually breaking graphite in her pencil with how much force she puts into scribbling the note. This time he caught the rolled up chit in his fingers, before she could put it under his collar, as he was waiting for another words from her, as he was having fun with having a conversation with her.
"You already find it out on your own skin" this freaking ass... guy. She refuses to curse, even if he deserves one. Deciding that she's enough of this talk, she moves her gaze bac to her notes, ignoring the next note that shows on her desk.
She read it only after the bell signaling the finish of their classes.
It says: "See you at library, curls. I promise to be at my best behavior" which makes her stop and actually think about what they've said through their notes. Reading the forth and back again, she gasped.
Was Sarp Yilmaz flirting with her?
No, no, no... That wasn't happening, right? It couldn't been happening at all.
He hates her. She is sure he hates her.
Then why? How to explain this change in demeanor?
For a flash of second she thinks about not going to their meeting. But then... Curiosity kills a cat, yeah?
She is going to be a very dead kitten then.
