Last month it was Morgan's birthday and I surprised him with tickets to watch Adele perform. He got so excited, bear hugged me and then said he couldn't wait to go.
Today is finally the day of the concert. He went into our bedroom to get dressed while I finished getting myself ready in my dressing room.
Once I was finished I walked out into the hallway to see that Morgan had intentionally matched his outfit with mine. I smiled as I looked him up and down. "Very handsome," I complimented as I rested my hands on his chest.
As I walked away he placed a playful slap to my bum, making me jump. "Oi!" I giggled. "You look fucking gorgeous babe," he husked.
It took at least an hour and a half to get to the venue, since the traffic was awful, but thankfully we got a taxi because having to find a parking space would've been a nightmare.
"Here we are!" The driver announced as we pulled up. "Thank you!" I said as Morgan payed him, then I grabbed my bag and got out.
Just a moment later we both stood on the street, looking over at the huge arena with 'Adele' plastered everywhere. "Woah," he said under his breath, "this is insane." I looked at him and smiled. He smiled back at me and then pressed a kiss to my cheek. "What're we waiting for?" He extended his hand.
We scanned our tickets, found our seats -which were at the very front and extremely close to the stage-, then we waited impatiently for the concert to begin.
The lighting dramatically changed and we both looked at each other in anticipation. "I can't believe this is happening right now," he muttered. "You played in the sidemen charity match and this is a shock?" I teased. He lightly nudged my shoulder with a chuckle.
When she walked out we just sat there is awe. First of all, her outfit was beautiful and secondly she was hilarious and so kind. Some of the things she was coming out with was making us both belly laugh.
But when she started singing, the atmosphere changed completely. Everyone, including me and Morgan, stood and stared dancing and singing along.
We both waited the entire concert for our favourite song. When it came on we shared a knowing look and smiles spread across our faces.
I let it fall, my heart And as it fell, you rose to claim it It was dark and I was over Until you kissed my lips and you saved me My hands, they were strong But my knees were far too weak To stand in your arms Without falling to your feet
Everyone was singing and clearly having a great time. Morgan was completely and utterly in his element. He didn't care about about what anyone thought, which is why I love him, he was just genuinely giving it his all.
But I set fire to the rain Watched it pour as I touched your face Well, it burned while I cried 'Cause I heard it screaming out your name Your name I set fire to the rain And I threw us into the flames When it fell, something died 'Cause I knew that that was The last time, the last time
Sometimes I wake up by the door That heart you caught must be waiting for you Even now, when we're already over I can't help myself from looking for you
Once the song ended, she brought the concert to a close. I was slightly sad that it was over because I'd had such a great time but I knew that we'd just made a life long memory.
The car ride home was surprisingly quiet. Both of us were trying to soak in the last few hours. It felt surreal to have seen her that close and listen to the songs we both love, live.
When we finally got home, I locked the door and just as I turned around Morgan threw his arms around me. "Thank you," he whispered, "I had the best time." Oh, my heart.
"You're so welcome babe, I'm so glad you had fun," I replied in a soft tone, my hands slowly raking through his hair. "Fun is an understatement." He mumbled into my chest.
