ELIZABETH

The first thing I saw after crossing the portal was a girl on the ground. Her bright red hair was as fiery as the flames surrounding the forest where I found myself; she seemed unconscious and frightened. I wanted to ask her where I was, but I fainted before I could approach her.

When I woke up, I found myself in an unfamiliar port. Looking around, I quickly realized that I had ended up on some kind of platform. I had a severe headache, as if someone had made me fall repeatedly. The strangest thing was that I had a bandage around my leg—a sort of napkin that I definitely hadn't put on myself.

I got up and sat cross-legged on the strange material beneath me. As soon as I did, a girl entered the room. It was the one I had seen in the forest. She didn't notice me at first, so I waited, trying not to make any noise. When she finally noticed me, she was startled and immediately assumed a defensive posture.

At least I know she's not aggressive, I thought. I tried to speak to her, to ask where I was, but the vacant, confused look in her eyes made it clear that she didn't understand my language. This complicated things. I needed to find a way to communicate, to understand what kind of world I had ended up in.

She moved cautiously, her eyes widening in shock, and her body tensed immediately into a defensive position. A part of me relaxed; her reaction was instinctive, not that of an aggressive creature. However, the fact that she wasn't an immediate threat didn't mean I trusted her. I remained still, watching her carefully, trying to decipher her intentions.

I decided to take out my "Popi," a small device I always carried with me. When at rest, Popi takes the form of a diamond, a sort of small technological amulet, but its true potential revealed itself only when activated. I let it drop to the ground, hoping it hadn't been damaged during my journey through the portal.

As soon as it hit the floor, Popi activated, emitting a mechanical sound that echoed in the room. "Good morning, Princess. Thank you for choosing Popi 080824 x. How can I assist you?" The tone of the device was as cold and metallic as it was reassuring.

"Popi, tell me immediately where I am and if there are any creatures here that could attack me!" I asked, trying to keep my tone calm, though my mind was in turmoil.

"At your command, Princess. According to my calculations, you've found yourself on the planet Earth. This planet is the third in the solar system and is located in the Milky Way galaxy. It has a varied surface and a very complex biosphere."

Popi's words hit me like lightning. "Earth? The planet we use as a dumping ground for the Taroll, the mentally ill, and the deviants of our society?" I responded, as my mind frantically tried to visualize and memorize the coordinates and spatial descriptions Popi was elaborating.

"Exactly, Princess. Earth is divided into continents and oceans. The main continents are Africa, North America, South America, Antarctica, Asia, Europe, and Oceania. Each continent has unique geographical features, such as deserts, forests, mountains, and plains. The oceans, which cover about 71% of Earth's surface, are the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Arctic, and Southern Oceans."

"Listen, Popi, I'm not interested in geography. I want to know if there are any dangers here, if there's anything that could attack me!" I insisted, trying to keep my composure.

"Biologically speaking," Popi continued, "Earth hosts a wide variety of life forms. Humans are one of the dominant species. They are characterized by relatively high intelligence, but their technology and knowledge are considerably inferior to that of your civilization. Humans are divided into many races and cultures and speak numerous languages, with English being one of the most widespread in this particular environment."
