The house, if one dared to categorize the grand estate as merely a house, stood as a testament to luxury and extravagance. Its imposing presence boasted eighteen expansive bedrooms, each a sanctuary of comfort and luxury. The ten bathrooms, adorned with marble and adorned fixtures, exuded a sense of refinement and abundance. Spanning an astonishing 17,000 square feet, the estate sprawled gracefully across meticulously manicured grounds, with sprawling lawns, ornamental gardens, and perhaps even a serene water feature. Its sheer size and grandeur transcended conventional notions of a residence, resembling a lavish mansion fit for royalty or the elite. The towering facade, the intricate architectural details, and the sprawling interior spaces all whispered tales of wealth, sophistication, and life at the pinnacle of success.

Elodie was utterly shocked by the estate. As the car pulled into the expansive carport beneath the towering structure, her jaw dropped in disbelief. She was rendered speechless, unable to articulate her astonishment. What in the world was this place?

The estate's grandeur was a sight, leaving Elodie in awe. The architecture, a testament to human ingenuity, was adorned with imposing columns and intricate details that seemed to whisper tales of a bygone era. The verdant oasis grounds stretched as far as the eye could see, inviting exploration and discovery. It was a world of opulence and grandeur that surpassed Elodie's wildest dreams.

Elodie's mind raced with questions and doubt. How could anyone live in such splendor? What kind of person resided within these walls? The experience was overwhelming and exhilarating, and she could hardly wait to explore more of this extraordinary place.

"Welcome to my humble abode," Silas smirked.

"Humble is not the description I would use," Elodie corrected.

"No?" he questioned, with a hint of dark humor. He did enjoy the shocked expression when he brought a guest to his home for the first time. There are few things more bemusing than their shell-shocked expressions. He revealed in each victory.

"You enjoy this, don't you?" Elodie challenged.

He accepted her accusation.

"I would enjoy it too," Elodie admitted.

Silas nodded in understanding as Elodie spoke, appreciating her insight and honesty. He admired her quick wit and intelligence, traits he had always admired from afar. Finally, meeting her in person felt like a realization of a long-held admiration. Over the years, Silas developed a strong connection with Elodie based on a shared understanding and mutual respect. He valued her as a kindred spirit, appreciating her unique perspective and spirited nature. Silas cherished their intellectual connection and looked forward to collaborating and engaging with her further in a roommate situation.

"Woah," Elodie gasped as she entered through the front doors.

"You like?"

"This is more than liking; it's a dream," she admitted.

"My family thinks I'm gaudy."

"I can only imagine what your family's house looks like if this is their definition of tacky. It could be slightly over the top, but not by much," she said sarcastically.

Silas laughed.

"I mean, you could have warned me," she added.

"You mean while we were chatting online?"

She nodded. "Absolutely. You could have said, by the way, I'm a big deal and live in a mega-mansion. So, whenever you want to chill, I'll have my fancy driver pick you up in my car."

"Rolls Royce," he stated.

"Oh, yeah, god, even more luxury," she mocked.

He laughed.
