Chapter 2

(this will be a time skip to where Kai moved to Oklahoma! Word count: 1288)

"I met a new friend. She has a daughter around your age." Ma said as I just nod. I was unpacking. "Kai you need new friends. I get what we went through is traumatizing but you can't just be alone." Ma said as she walked out of my new room. I sigh and lay on my back.

"If I meet this girl will you leave me alone about it and let me do my research?" I yell at her. "Yes. So get your ass up and come with me!" Ma yells as I hear her run down our stairs. I get up and look  at what I'm wearing. Which is my sports bra that's black with my gray jacket that's unzipped and my skinny jeans with my vans.

I sigh and run down the stairs and out the door. I go to my mom's jeep and get in. "You need this. It might be good meeting new people. You can't just research all the time." Ma says as we start heading to where her new friend and daughter are.

time skip to where they get to her house

I feel the car stop and look up from my laptop. "Come on. There waiting for us" ma says as she gets out of the car. I sigh and close my laptop getting out (with the laptop). I close the car door and walk behind ma.

We reached the door of the house and ma knocks on the door. I hear someone walking to the door and open it. "Andrea! Oh come in! come in!" A nice looking lady says and steps to the side letting us in. "You must be Kai!" She says and I just nod holding my laptop up to my chest. "Actually Kai come with me. Kate and her friends are in the barn." She says while motioning me to follow her so I do.

As we walk I stay quiet. We reached a worn out Barn. She opens it and goes in so I follow her. "Kate this is the girl I was talking about!" She says as she gently moves me in front of her. "Hi, I'm Kai." I gently say still having my laptop against my chest. "Hi! I'm Kate! This is my boyfriend, Jeb." Kate says as she points to a man. "Hey! I'm Addy!" A girl who looks quite young greats. "And I'm Javi." Another man greats. I nod to all of the people who introduce themselves.

"Oh I don't think I ever introduced myself! I'm Kate's mom, Cathy!" Kate's mom says before she leaves. "Nice meeting all of you." I say shyly. "You have a laptop?" Kate asks. "Oh yeah. It's only used to collect data from tornadoes." I answer back really excitedly. They all give me a look I can't place. "S-sorry." I apologize looking down.

(I would like to mention your 17 in this. And you meet them a month before everything happens) "You research tornadoes?" Addy asks. "Yeah. Ever since I was in one I wanted to see if I could tame one so no one else would get hurt or die." I say looking back up with a sad smile.

"You and Kate think alike." Javi says smiling at me. "Kai can you show me what you have got so far?" Kate asks and I nod. I walk over to where she sat and open my laptop that already had all the data I had. "Wow this is impressive! How did you get all of this?" Jeb asks. "Well me and my mom drove here and we had to stop a lot so of course i have a lot." I answer back. "You seem to know this." Javi says smirking. "I know a lot of things. Mostly tornadoes but I know some things about the weather in general." I say back smiling.

Time skip to where the movie starts off. Kai and Javi started dating 3 weeks after they met. 

I was in Javis arms while we slept but everyone was awoken by Kate blowing the Horn. "Kate! Come on! I want more sleep!" I yell at her and cuddle back into Javi. I feel him pull me closer rubbing my side. "Storms here guys let's go!" Kate yells. "No! I want more sleep!" I yell back. "Javi, Kai get up! Come on." Kate says as she pulls the blanket over our heads. "Damn ok! I'm up!" I say crawling out.

I was wearing a cropped tank top with my classic gray jacket and my shorts that make my ass look good with my vans that are still clean somehow.

"Oh come on!" I hear Javi say as he takes the blanket off his head. He gets up and walks to me putting his hands on my hips. "Morning beautiful." Javi says as he kisses me and I kiss back.

After everyone was up I was doing what Javi was doing. Messing with the things. I wasn't paying attention to anything much but I heard Javi say "How about Kate sees a few more hours of sleep." I laugh gently at him "yeah Kate!" I say jokingly. I put down the thing and go over to where everyone else was after hearing Kate say get in.

Javi pulls me to his side as we look at Kate with her camera. She says something I couldn't really make out because of how tired I was. "The day we tame a tornado!" We all say together even though I was a bit late. Javi kissed me again before leaving as I went to the car and got in. I was in the passenger seat.

Few minutes pass before I see Javi get in beside me and start following Jeb. Javi puts a hand on my thigh while he drives.

The music up. With the music playing in the background and him singing along. I look out the window not paying attention to what The others were talking about.

I see them pull over and we start to get the mixture ready. I get out and open the side door when everyone was talking. "Right Kai?" I hear Javi say. "Sorry what's happening?" I ask as I jump out from inside the van going over to them. "That we need the data." He says as I nod and go to see the mixture.

After I checked it I went back to the van as the other pulled away. "Hey be careful!" I hear Javi yell at them. He makes his way back to me. We start our own thing. Me in the passenger seat on my laptop tracking them and the storm. I decided to get out and sit behind Javi leaning on his back.

He turns to me and pulls me into his side as we both wait. I hear them say they dropped it off. "And now we wai-" I start but see stop and look at the storm. "A Ef 5...." I whisper to myself. Me and Javi start to panic. Javi told them to drive and I grabbed the walkie talkie "Guys this is a Ef 5 tornado get out of there!" I tell them looking at Javi. He grabs it back trying to get the others to answer.

"The car would have been destroyed. No way they can contact us." I say as I start to shake. Javi pulls me into a hug as we wait for it to be over.
