It's been years since it happened. I lost 3 more friends on top of what happened when I was 13. Only Cory died but I lost 3 friends that day just because I wanted to wait for the storm to pass.

I sigh and continue to wash my dishes. Javi and I broke up when he left. The last thing he told me was "I'll come back for you. I promise my love." I shake my head trying not to cry. My mom died a year ago. Kate moved to New York.

I heard someone knocked on the door. "Coming!" I yell at the person. I grab a rag wiping the water off my hands. I open the door. "How can I help you?" I ask looking at the man in front of me. "Javi?" I say dropping the rag. "Hey Kai." I moved without thinking and hugging him.

I feel him hug back. "It's been awhile huh."he says as I laugh and pull away. I look him in the eyes as I cut his cheek. "You have no idea how much I've missed you, Javi." I say as he pulls me against his chest. "I'm here now so how about you show me?" Javi says as I pull him in the house.

I lay next to Javi out of breath and naked. He's the same way. "Why didn't you try to keep in contact with me?" I ask as I turn to my side and snuggle up to him. "I had to get away from it all. I didn't think about anyone until I came to peace with everything that happened." He answered me as his arm wraps around my waist.

I put my hand on his chest. "So Kate moved to New York." Javi States grabbing my hand and moving it to his mouth kissing the palm of my hand. "Yeah. She sucks at calling though." I said moving my hand so that I'm cubing his cheek. "When did you start helping the tornado wranglers?" He asks after a few peaceful moments pass.

"2 years ago. You know I always loved chasing things." I say as I moved my hand back to his chest. "So I'm guessing that you're going to be with them when you go storm chasing." He says with so much hatred. "Javi, they help people! Unlike Riggs." I say sitting up looking down at him.

"Riggs is helping people, Kai! The tornado wranglers only sells shit." Javi said get up and out of bed. "Javi what are you doing?" I ask as I see him put on his clothes. I grab my very over sized hoodie and go after him. "Leaving. If you want to help those no good YouTubers then go right ahead! I'm not going to stop you." Javi says as he reaches the door.

It hit me that he was leaving. And it might be for good. "J-Javi please don't go. I just got you back. I can't lose you again. Please don't do this." I beg grabbing his hand before he makes it off the porch. "Kai, I can't stand to watch you ruin that great mind of yours. Hopefully Kate will understand. Goodbye Kai." He says as he rips his hand from mine.

"Javi come on don't you remember what you told me 5 years ago? Before you left, before you said you'll come back for me? You said that you'll stick by me no matter what!" I said trying to reason with him.

"I was young and hopefully in love. But not anymore." That's the last thing he said before he left...

I go back inside and grab my phone. I typed the contact that said Tyler. I put my phone up to my ear and hear it ring 2 times before he answered. "What's up K?" Ty greats as I walk up my stairs. "Hey Ty? I would like to take you up on your offer. The one that you said I could have a week to storm chase with you and see if I liked it." I say as I grabbed my skinny jeans and a cropped tank top.

"Of course! But why now?" He asks as he yells out to the crew telling them that they're leaving to come and get me. "To prove my ex wrong." I said after getting dressed and putting on socks.

"Okay then. We're on our way!" Tyler says before hanging up. I go back down stairs and put on the same vans I have had for all these years. I grab my keys and walk out the door and wait for them.
