There was a loud knock at the door, waking Yumi from her sleep. "Mmm," Yumi grunted, placing a pillow over her head. She spent all night studying; she wasn't ready to wake just yet.

"Yumi.."

Hanako muttered.

I'm going to have to wake, aren't I?

Yumi let out a sigh as she lifted the pillow from her face. As she did, she noticed Hanako standing before her, gazing down and clutching a piece of paper in her hands. "We were invited to a party."

A party?? Yumi sat up and grabbed the paper in her hand.

"Campsite party!!"

Tonight at 10 p.m., you're invited to the "Welcome to college campus party!"

A city party?? I mean I've been to a party before... who hadn't, but a city one? I-

Yumi's phone buzzed, making her pause about the party invitation. 

Yumi shook her head, not really sure if she was going to go. She reached for her phone as her mother's call came through.

"Good morning, Yumi!"

"Good morning, mom."

"How's everything been? I want to know everything!"

Yumi let out a small laugh.

Following the phone call, I proceeded to attend the second class that was on my schedule.

I didn't know anyone from this one, but it wasn't hard to make any friends. I really thought it was going to be, but it wasn't. I guess I just overthought everything.  

I got to know Kaito, Niko, & Haru.

Unexpectedly, it was harder to be friends with the girls in this class. They all gave me blank stares and wouldn't say anything, even if I interacted with them.

"Go! Ask her if she's going to the party tonight!"

"W-what?!"

"Go!!"

Kaito approached, being pushed forward. "Hey.. Yumi."

"Hi!" Yumi responded with a smile. She knew Kaito because she attended one of the classes along with some of his friends. 

Kaito nervously rubbed his hand in his hair. "I was wondering if you had any plans tonight? I mean.. it's just because there's a party, and I wanted to know if you were attending it."

"I.. I'm not sure yet. I have work that ends at 6 pm, and I still have to study... but-"

Kaito interrupts. "How about I give you my number? If you do, let me know."

Yumi reached for her phone and pulled it out. "Okay."

On my way to the coffee shop, Yumi was just blankly staring at the floor, contemplating what to do. If.. I left early I could make it, but what about studying?

"I said scram! Get out of here!!"

Yumi glanced up and caught sight of a small kitten darting between her legs, closely followed by a not-so-happy restaurant owner.

*meow*

"Hey..." Yumi bent down gently, lending her hand to it.

Behind her, a crowd began to form with excited voices echoing the streets. 

"It's them!!!" Someone shouted.

Yumi payed no attention as she gently grabbed the kitten in her arms. The kitten snuggled close to her. "What am I going to do with you?" Yumi muttered, letting out a small giggle.
