As Cale predicted, an assassination attempt had taken place at the ball.
'Shit.. I didn't think there'd actually be an assassination.' Cale gritted his teeth, bracing the sudden harsh wind.
"Cale-nim!" Choi Han called out, looking for him.
Cale didn't answer. He tried getting a better view of the perpetrator amongst the dust. 'Is it Arm?' That was the only culprit Cale could think of at the moment.
"Cale. Stay by my side, I'll protect you." Joonghyuk said, raising his sword on one hand and the other holding Cale tightly.
Cale scanned the area. "Choi Han! Evacuate the nobles!" He instructed.
"Y-Yes, Cale-nim!" Choi Han said shakily, unsure whether to leave Cale alone with him or not, yet he still carried out Cale's orders.
The dust cleared, revealing a silhouette.
"Tsk." A man with a white eye mask and a black robe stood where the debris was.
"White Star..." Cale cursed.
"Miss me, Cale?" The White Radish asked.
"No."
"Cale!" Kim com. yelled, running his way.
"Are you alright?!" Sangah asked, worried.
"I'm fine." Cale answered.
"Who is this bastard?" Sooyoung asked, still chewing on food.
"His name is White Star, the head of the Arm organization." Cale answered calmly. But his head was in a mess, 'what is he doing here?! Didn't he die from the world tree's dagger!'
'Where have I heard that name before..?' Dokja thought. Then he remembered reading it in a poster on the streets while wandering. "The terrorist?!"
Cale nodded, sweating anxiously.
"Shouldn't we be stopping him then?!" Heewon drew her sword.
White Star smirked. "It looks like you've collected a few more pests over the year." White Star spoke again, "however, they're just a more insects to get rid of." A grin spread wide across his face. "If you join my side, then I can leave these nobodies alone." He offered.
"Hey! Who says we can't defeat you!" Sooyoung began complaining. "I'm definitely more stronger than you!"
"What should we do, Dokja?" Yoosung asked, looking up at him while gripping onto his sleeve.
"You're scared?" Gilyoung mocked.
"What? No!" Yoosung argued."I'm just asking what Dokja thinks!"
"Yeah, sure."
Dokja bent down on his knees, "kids, get to a safe space." He assured them with a smile.
"Dokja!" Heewon yelled for him. "It doesn't seem like on the outside, but he's quite formidable. Hyunsung can barely keep his attacks at bay. What should we do?"
Dokja sweated, "we need more information on his first... but we don't have time for that." Dokja looked at the others battling, noticing Joonghyuk wasn't there, he searched for him... only to find him with Cale. "What are you doing, Joonghyuk?!" Dokja became pissed.
"Can't you see? I'm protecting Cale." Joonghyuk answered boldly.
Dokja grinded his teeth against each other, "yes, but at least help us."
"I am."
"No you're not!"
Joonghyuk didn't budge, "I'm protecting a noble. Isn't our mission to gain the trust of the people?"
"Yes!—but.. no..." Dokja began to think it really is useless to talk some sense into him. "Whatever, since you don't want to, I'll go help the others."
Bang!
"You damn ants! Get out of my way!" White Star yelled angrily. Blood fell from the scars across his body.
"We might be able to do this!" Heewon cheered.
White Star, having heard her, responded, "you think you can defeat me?! You haven't seen my real power yet!" His smile became crazed.
A/N: I don't really know how anyone's powers work, so I'm just gonna make stuff up.
The ground shook intensely, ruins from the last impact began to collide with one another.
"Maybe we should take this someplace else..." Alberu feared the thought of the royal palace being destroyed.
"I'll teleport us to the plains, your highness!" Rosalyn said, casting a teleportation spell.
Poof!
They were instantly transported to a flat land, with nothing around but vivid and healthy green grass. There it was only them, the Koreans and the kingdom's heroes.
White Star seemed to have calmed down, "are you curious how I'm back?"
Althought Cale didn't look like it, he was curious.
White Star started laughing like a maniac, "just like you, I made a deal with god!" His pupils grew thin, but his grin grew larger. He truly was a madman!
'A deal.. with god..? Who? Which god?' Cale couldn't pinpoint the answers to his question. What god would be sane enough to support him?
"You're such a worrywart, Cale." White Star's gaze filled with hatred. "You won't have to think anymore when I kill you!" He dashed forward at Cale with his sword made of pure fire. "I'll disintegrate every part of you for recking my master plan! You'll feel the despair I felt!"
Despite his injuries, he was still as strong as new.
"CALE!"
They all yelled, fearing he'd get hit.
Joonghyuk pulled Cale out of the way, blocking the attack with his stern sword.
They all sighed in relief, then got serious again.
"Who's this now? Did you abandon the sad puppy?" White Star mocked.
He was talking about Choi Han.
Cale glared at him.
"You're no fun at all." White Star sighed. "Let's start again then." He grinned.
The sky grew dark with heavy clouds. A rumble sounded the plains with a ruckus.
"We can't let him finish what he's doing!" Heewon gritted her teeth, frustrated.
The situation was no good for them. Without proper and precise preparation, they couldn't get the upper hand. But this was a situation familiar to them, they had done this many times, they could handle it again, right...?
