Epic wrapped a warm blanket around himself, as he stared at the small fire in the Elder's hidden shack, watching the steam come off of his clothes as they dried. He had crawled into the shack after he had resurfaced from the river, being in too much pain to walk.

He had cleaned, and bandaged his wounds, using some of his more powerful supplies to treat the gash on his left ankle.

That ankle was now being supported by a pile of cushions, while he ate a quick meal, having combed the shack from top to bottom, once he had recovered enough to hobble around, and look for clues.

And he was disgusted by what he had found. The old Elder had been a member of that damned cult. He glared at the journal that he was currently flicking through.

Book 3: Entry 283

Gaster's child arrived in my Town today... According to the records, he is blooded, but his father had to force him to do it. Honestly, if the training records had been read, they would have realized that the boy is better off as an information gather. He is too soft souled to kill. I will try to establish him as the next Town Priest, it gives the boy some experience at being an actual Priest while he waits for an assignment.

I do have to agree with the boy on one thing, most of the Sin lines have died out, forgotten, or are so far removed from their ancestors that they don't have any trace of their sins. Hunting them down, and finishing their lines off, is what got us in trouble.

Book 3: Entry 300

The boy is too stubborn. His taste of freedom has corrupted him. I need to train it out of him.

Book 3: Entry 359

The boy has befriended a descendant of a Pride! One that holds enough political power that I can't keep them apart. At least all records of the past Pride are non-existent...

Epic stopped reading the journal, when he saw that...

Cross was a Sin descendant?! How... Why... It wasn't going to stop them from being friends... Epic didn't care about that, but he was worried about what that would mean for Cross, in the future. He started to read the journal again.

Book 3: Entry 380

A sin, a sin was spotted.

The Great Book describes them well, the Envy.. the Great Malice walks around, once again.

Epic felt sick. A Sin had been spotted... He and Cross had joked about this, but to know that it actually happened... Malice must have been the extra Ink. It was the only way to explain why there was two of them.

Book 3: Entry 400

Gaster's boy, and the Sin descendant, are still friends. I can not separate them. They see each other when I'm not around.

Book 3: Entry 412

The Sin has taken the descendant.

Gaster's boy had a bad reaction to that, it must be due to his connection with the world's Magic, he sensed the descendant being taken.

I am thrilled, finally, we shall take back what was taken from us, when the world degreed no more, to our practices.

They will understand that we are their protectors again.
