Even though Jyugo knew it was real.. he still couldn't believe it all.
He was a momma now. And Uno was a papa.
Just yesterday, he'd delivered their twin pups; Natsumi and Hunter, and he never once thought his heart could feel so, so full. These pups were his flesh and blood-- his whole world. And he'd give his life for them any day of the week, he knew that much already.
He couldn't lie though, he was a bit annoyed with his current predicament; he'd have to be kept in the infirmary to recover for four days.
Because he had to have an emergency c-section to get Hunter out after fainting right after Natsumi was born, he needed to stay in the infirmary while his wound healed and body regained it's energy and strength.
Uno wasn't allowed to stay with him 24/7, much to the mated pairs utter dismay and sadness. It was expected though, considering they were inmates in a max security prison. As far as Hajime was concerned, he didn't want to risk Uno using freedom to stay in the infirmary as long as he desired to run off and start trouble.
Not that he would. Not with two little puppies and his beloved mate needing his attention.
Still, Hajime wouldn't listen. He was shooed back to his cell by the latest hours of the night of the pups' births, and was given a compromise of visiting Jyugo four times a day every couple of hours for-- as Hajime put it-- "as long as I deem fit".
It was good enough for the two, and they agreed with this little routine. Didn't mean they didn't wish their meet ups lasted longer and happened more frequently.
Either way, a full night had passed of Jyugo's infirmary stay, and it was in the wee hours of morning, the sun just starting to kiss the ocean beyond the walls of Nanba; probably around late 5 or early 6 am.
Jyugo's eyes fluttered open, and he grumbled quietly with his sleep ending. Lifting a hand, he rubbed the heaviness out of his eyes, and sat upright. His stomach incision was still a bit sore, but was definitely starting to heal-- he was able to sit up faster than last night.
He glanced over to where Hunter and Natsumi's bassinets were, and suddenly jumped wide awake, eyes shooting open, when he saw they weren't in them.
Where were they??
Where are his babies?!
His omega frantic, he more or less ripped the blanket off of his body, and he moved to swing his legs over the edge of the bed. Grabbing onto the IV pole at the side of the bed to steady himself, he put his feet on the ground, and started struggling to stand.
He growled at the pain this brought, clutching a hand to his abdomen, but he ignored it as best he could. The sole thing he cared right now about was finding his pups before--
"Number 15!! What do you think you're doing?!"
Otogi's sharp, stern voice made Jyugo snap his head up, and he turned to see the doctor standing there, his pups bundled up on either arm. Relief washed over him, and his omega was quick to calm, knowing his pups were safe after all.
"Wh--" Jyugo started, but bit his cheek with a grunt as he allowed himself to sit down again, his incision irritated from the movement he'd done. "Why'd you take my pups?! You scared me half to death, I thought th--!"
