"Luz, get out here, you're gonna be late for your first mission!" Hunter, my brother, yelled from the other side of the door connecting our rooms. You see, I'm the Purple Protector. My brother, the Golden Guard, and I both work for our uncle, Emperor Belos. We're actually the highest in command, next to him, of course. "'Be right there, I'm just putting my cloak on!" I yell back, even though I'm not putting my cloak on. The truth is, I'm sitting in front of my mirror, contemplating what would happen if I fail this mission. I've seen what hunter looks like after he comes back from a failed one. All tired, and covering his face with his mask, even though I've told him he can take it off. Anyways, I decide to get up, after what felt like a long time of being lost in thought. It happens a lot. Sometimes, I'll just space out, and moments later I have no idea what's going on. I walk over to the door Hunter's standing on the other side of. I open it, knowing he'd already be ready. He's in his uniform, talking to himself in the mirror, although I can't quite hear what he's saying. I can make out little mumbles like "Little ------ all grown --", but I still can't tell what he's talking about. "You ready?" He asks when he sees me, slightly startled by my sudden appearance. "As I'll ever be." I say, excitedly.
