ALEX WAKES UP TO ANNABETH FEEDING PERCY A PUDDING LOOKING SUBSTANCE. She sees Percy shuffle a bit and she assumes he is awake for the moment but will be asleep within a few seconds. That happened 2 times since Alex has been sitting at his bedside. It scared the shit out of her both times because he would knock her foot or make a noise and when she opened her eyes, he would be asleep again.
Alex doesn't know how long she's been in the room for. She knows it's nighttime as it's dark outside but the concept of time seems so far away. Ever since she took the position in Percy's room, she's only gotten up once to go to the bathroom and that's it. She doesn't want to move until Percy's awake and with her.
Annabeth must not notice that she's awake because she starts talking to Percy. Alex makes sure to shut her eyes and not move. "What will happen at summer solstice?"
"What?" The words barely reach Alex's ears but she swears she can hear Percy's annoying little voice no matter how quiet it is.
"What's going on? What was stolen? We've only got a few weeks!" She whispers like she's trying to hide the words from Alex despite being in a completely silent room, not even 5 metres from the girl.
"I'm sorry." He mumbles, "I don't..."
A knock sounds on the door and Percy's words get cut off, sounding muffled. Alex can only assume Annabeth shoved more pudding into his mouth.
"Come in." She says softly, like she doesn't want to wake either twin even though she was talking to one 5 seconds ago. "Hey Luke."
"Hey," He responds, the door creaking slightly, "I just came to see if Alex would want to move to the cabin tonight but it doesn't look like it."
Alex prides herself on being good at keeping a straight face and she's glad for it in moments like these. She's sure both Luke and Annabeth are looking at her.
"I think she'll want to stay here until he wakes up. She seemed pretty reluctant to leave him this morning."
Luke hums. "Well, come find me when they're up." It sounds like Luke goes to leave but he doubles back. "You saw that Griffin gave her the tour this morning?"
Annabeth laughs, "Yup. He was smitten."
Luke laughs with her, "He even did the bow trick. I was watching from up on the hill. Pissed myself laughing when I saw."
Annabeth gasps, "No way."
"Well, you know how he is with his prophecy. He's terrified that it isn't fulfilled yet so he befriends the entire camp just in case. Like you but for different reasons."
"Do you blame him? You've heard his prophecy. He's basically told he must protect a daughter of the big 3 and help her get through loads of crap. And he failed."
"And that's not even the full thing." Alex can hear the smirk in Luke's voice, like he knows he's holding something over the girl's head.
Annabeth groans, "It's crazy he doesn't even know his full prophecy. And if he doesn't know it, I'm not going to know it. Are you sure you can tell me? Even just a little bit?"
"Chiron made me swear that I wouldn't tell anyone, Annie. I'm afraid you're going to have to wait for Griffin to tell you."
She huffs, "Yeah, if you guys ever even tell him the full thing."
"It'll destroy him. It also didn't help that he had to hear it from his dad when he was 9." Luke responds. He lowers his voice as he speaks, the first 3 words coming out gruff and raw.
The brunette girl sighs. Alex can hear the spoon hitting against the bowl as she scrapes the last bits of pudding onto the metal. "I feel for him, you know."
