~•the day that was•~

"You're so stupid, you know that?"

~•~

five stubbled but the girl that was following him caught him at the right moment before he could hit his head on the corner of the table "woah- you alright?" she asked him as he dusted himself off.

"never better" he mumbled, walking away from the girl who continued to follow him.

"doesn't look like it" she commented.

"can you stop following me?" he turned to her, stopping the girl from her tracks.

"five" she started "you clearly aren't alright- the last time i saw you looking this pale, you were shot on one of our missions" she reasoned "im just worried about you" she told the boy softly.

"you don't need to worry about me, im not a child" he told her, turning back to walk away.

"you look like a child" y/n commented.

"so do you" five reminded her.

"you guys are acting like children" diego added as they bumped into one another, they all suddenly heard allison call out for them from upstairs, they rushed upstairs and to the attic only to be greeted by old figurines of them with their faces burnt off.

"what the hell" y/n breathed out.

"all our faces are burnt off" allison spoke, noticing that even a magazine of them had their eyes gouged out.

"well that's not creepy" diego said sarcastically, taking a closer look of the items "this guy's got some serious issues.."

"this was never about vanya.." allison paused "this was about.. us"

y/n suddenly heard five breath out heavily next to her, catching her attention, she looked at the boy who turned to his side once more, now noticing the blood that's dripping down his legs "five..?"

"shit" five breathed out before collapsing, the girl quickly kneeled to his side as her siblings followed.

"blood..?" allison said as y/n lifted five's shirt to reveal a bullet wound.

"are you kidding me?" the girl turned to five "i fucking called it you piece of shit"

"woah- y/n calm down" diego told the girl, not noticing the tears that flood her eyes "jesus five, why didn't you say anything?" he turned to his weak brother.

"you have to keep going" five breathed out "so close.." were the last words that came out of his mouth before he passed out.

"f-five!" the girl next to him yelled, but he didn't answer, diego quickly carried five towards the car as y/n opened the back seat door for him, she cradled the unresponsive boy as they headed back to the academy, putting pressure on the wound so he wouldn't bleed out some more.

"your so stupid, you know that?" she whispered to five.. or herself? i mean if she wasn't such a burden back in the commission, he'd be standing as responsive with her right now right? looking at the distance, she remembered the moments where five held her close like this, like back at the commission, and the other day when he was drunk.

"he needed this.

i needed this."

the girl couldn't help but ask his driving brother if he could drive any faster as her hand was covered with the boy's blood.
