I was sitting on my balcony at my penthouse, getting my locs combed out by my loc stylist who was pretty salty about me wanting to come them out. She'll be alright. We've been outside since 4 this morning since the process is time-consuming.

"I can't stand you right now." She mumbled, parting part of my hair and combing it out after putting conditioner on it.

"At least I'm paying you a good amount of money," I mumbled only for her to hit my head with a comb in response.

I sucked my teeth. "Don't be like that, G." I looked back at her and she shook her head.

"Whatever," she said. "How's California treating you?" She asked as she continued to tend to my hair.

"It's treating me pretty well... I met a woman a few days ago." I smirked a bit, thinking about her. We have been texting since we met but today is my day off for the next two days.

"Oh really? Where did you meet her?" She smiled. I told her at my workplace. "Her best friend works there so we bump into each other. She was so mad when it happened but I found it adorable." I chuckled.

She shook her head. "Tell me what happened," I told her how we met and our day ended. "Look at you being Casanova." She smirked.

I shrugged. "Nah, I just like her vibe, and man, she's fine as hell too." I bit my lip as my hands started to get sweaty. I rubbed my hands on my sweats. I grabbed my pillow and put it on my lap.

"Ha! I know your ass is not hard right now." She burst out laughing. I sucked my teeth and I looked at her. "Hurry up and finish my shit." I rolled my eyes as I laid back and got comfortable.

I felt myself calming down a bit. I grabbed my phone and pulled up Mal's contact. I called her and put the phone to my left ear. Good thing, G was on my right side.

After a few rings, she answered.

"Hello?" She said breathing heavily.

"Damn, who working you out that's not me?" I smirked.

She laughed. "I just got off the Stairmaster, hush."

I chuckled. "You better have." I licked my lips. "I want to see you again..." I mumbled.

"You say what?" She said softly. "Speak up." She giggled.

I playfully rolled my eyes because I knew she knew what I was saying in the first. "I want to see you again, beautiful. Do you think we could see each other today? I want to look around the city with you."

"Sure we can, what time are you thinking?" She asked.

"Uhh, I will let you know in a few hours. I'm currently getting my hair done at the moment but dress cute, I want everybody to think we're together." I chuckled.

"I-ok." She giggled. I knew she was blushing through the phone. "Okay, baby. I will get back to you shortly, okay?" I spoke.

"Okay, I'll see you soon." She said. "I'm getting back on the Stairmaster again."

"Ohh you trying to look good for me, I see."

"Oh hush, no. I don't like the way my body is looking. I've gained to the point, my hips are wider and my ass is fatter. I need to get rid of that or at least define it."

"Malaika, baby. You look beautiful either way and I mean that, mama." I smiled.

"Stop making me blush." She laughed, wiping the sweat off her face with her towel wrapped around her neck. "I'll see you soon, okay? Call or text me when you're done getting your hair done."
