CHAPTER 12: SECRETS TOLD

EMMA'S POV
I woke up to the sound of my alarm and got ready for the day. I ran down stairs and saw that Stephanie wasn't there so I checked everywhere in the house except her room so I went to her bedroom door and stopped because I heard noises so I went a bit closer to hear what was happening.

"Mom I found her, she's so beautiful if you see her in person please come and see her"said Stephanie. Who was she talking about and who did she find and why is she crying?.
"She's 11 years old"she answered. Wait are they talking about me?, Am I the person?, And why is Stephanie saying she found me?.
When I leaned in closer Stephanie opened the door and saw me standing.
"Hey sweetie, how are you?"asked Stephanie nervously.
"Am fine, Stephanie can I ask you a question?"I asked.
"Sure go ahead"she answered.
"Umm, so I came to look for you and I heard your conversation and it was pretty obvious you were talking about me. Are you throwing me out?.I asked with tears in my eyes.
"No sweetie why would I do that, I even have to tell you something please enter my room and I will explain everything"said Stephanie.

"Baby please sit on the couch"she said.
As I ran to the couch and sat down with a loud thud Stephanie sat next to me.
"So I was talking to my mother, and I told her I found you"she said.
"Emma your my daughter"said Stephanie. I didn't believe her how can she be my mom?, Why didn't she come for me why?.
"Wait what I don't believe you"I said shaking my head continuously.
Stephanie went to her drawer and got out a file, she handed it to me and what I saw made my hands tremble. She's actually my mom and she has my birth certificate!! How?.
"Emma am so sorry for not coming to get you, your dad died when I gave birth to you and I didn't have enough money to take care of you that's why I left you in that orphanage, and when I dropped you there I wrote a letter and promised to come back for you but I think Madame Rose tore it. Baby am so sorry for not coming to get you earlier"said Stephanie.
"Do you know what I went through, I always cry in that place I lost my two best friends and I was living with a creepy child in the same room I was in she threatened to kill me that's why I ran away and I was so hurt". I just broke down into tears and ran out of the room.
I always thought I was not ok, why would my own mom leave me there with all the money she has?. I don't believe her, she left me there on purpose maybe she doesn't want me, maybe she thought I was a mistake. I rushed to my room and locked the door, I could hardly breathe because of my continuous sobbing.

"Emma please come out, please"said Stephanie knocking the door.
"N-no w-why would I I know you left me there on purpose because you didn't want me"I sobbed harder.
"Baby no I actually had a reason, I was soo poor so I had too and my parents passed down their wealth to me so I had to arrange everything and I was ready to come to get you but the I saw you at that gas station"said Stephanie.
"Please leave me alone, I will talk later"I said as I hid myself under the covers of my bed as I cried myself to sleep.
