The decision was well thought out. It was a decision that possessed you as you waited in the afterlife. You couldn't bring yourself to forget the longing that came with waiting for him. You were content but nowhere near happy.

You would wait for eternity for him, in this endless void meant to bring happiness. You felt at home here. A cabin by the lake, which you would reside in, with your pet. When the sky would become dark with stars poking holes in the black blanket, you would take her into the lake to lay with you and play.

The dark sky was always your favourite, reminding you of your lost love and your secret meet-ups. You were so happy with him around.

Today, you braved the waters on your own, taking in the silence that you had longed for for years. You lay on your back, floating in the lake silently, thinking of how much longer your wait would be or if it was worthless and your love would stay in hell for eternity.

You promised him you'd see him again and your decision will not be in vain. Your creator even blessed you with the pet you lost on earth, why wouldn't he provide your Touya?

You were always so hopeful.

You jumped when you heard a small splash in the water, spinning yourself around to check that your pet hadn't walked into the water unattended.

"I think you need to come closer for a better look," Touya smirked, stretching his hands out for you.

He looked different, there wasn't any disfigurement on his face, no body piercings, no scarring and he could walk just fine.

It felt like a miracle.

You stood in one place, gawking at him, trying to figure out if he was even there or if you were having another episode.

"Are you real?" Your voice wavered, your heart knew who your love was, it knew where to find Touya and it knew his heart as well.

"Take a closer look and see, or are you scared of getting your clothes wet?"

You smiled, treading water slowly, chest-thumping as you made your way over to him.

"No, I am in my underwear," You exhaled sharply, trying to laugh but you were overwhelmed with emotion. You stood in front of him, ignoring his spread-out arms and examined his face. Your fingers traced, where his scar tissue and skin used to meet, they traced along his ear where he held multiple piercings, they went down his arm that used to hold rough skin and reached a hand to his palm to feel the bridge between rough and smooth only to find smooth.

"Your skin is much smoother now than before," You held his hand thumbs rubbing the back of his hands as you stared at him, feeling like a hug would send electricity through your body that would kill you again.

"You don't look too bad yourself," He teased, holding your eye contact and smiling.

"You are wearing a jumper?" You asked, thinking if that was the right clothes.

"It's a t-shirt,"

You hummed in response.

You held each other like that, communicating years of words to each other through your stares, hating the fact that at some point you would have to look away, but at least you would be together now. You would become each other's vulnerabilities, each other's commitment, each other's person.

"I'm sorry I'm here early," You mumbled, slowly pulling yourself into a hug when you finally accepted he was here with you.

"It's ok." He whispered in your hair, pressing himself tightly against you, water wading around the two of you.

"I'm sorry I cursed when you left me alone and when you killed the blob," You apologised again, your mind equalizing admitting to him and repenting. "I always dreamt of you, no matter what you'd appear in my dreams. I'm sorry I wanted you alive even though it hurt you, I'm sorry Touya."

Touya leaned forward slightly, pressing his lips against your forehead, rubbing your back as he felt you get emotional.

"None of that stuff matters now." He cooed, swaying you like a child.

"I really missed you." You told him, searching his eyes for the feeling he had given you so many times before, that reassurance, that love and that understanding.

A large smile spread across his face, cheekbones, rising stupidly high as he let tears escape his lashline, he felt no shame in letting himself be vulnerable with you. He held you in such a high regard and knew you wouldn't judge.

"I missed you too."

A stupidly large smile splits your face, a ball of spit being swallowed as you allow yourself to get emotional. Your saviour coming to make you happy, to take you to a better place.

"Do you know about the red string theory?" He asked out of nowhere.

"No, I don't think you told me,"

"It's when a red string ties two people together by their pinkies making their love predestined. The string can't break no matter what because the love between the two is destiny. They're soulmates," He searched your eyes to see if you understood what he was saying.

"I think we are soulmates,"

"Me too," You leaned forward lingering your lips over his, your eyes shut while you waited for him, "I love you." He leaned forward leaving a soft kiss against your lips, leaving as quickly as it began.

" I love you too."

You knew you wouldn't have to waste your time dreaming of him again.
