Chapter One
Four years later...
Nicole's P.O.V
Today was the day. The day I went back to my hometown. We are moving back, not into my old house, in fact, the new house is bigger and better. I didn't care about the house really, I was just happy to go back. Back to my amazing memories and possibly back to him... I could practically hear his soothing voice and feel his arms around me. I haven't stopped thinking about him in the four years that I have been gone. We kept in touch for two years, but then he went to college and didn't really have time to talk. He promised me that if he ever saw me again, he wouldn't let me go ever again. I snapped out of my daze as my mom came to my room. "Are you ready Nicole?" She asked me as I nodded my head slightly.
"I've been ready since you told me that we were going back. Do you think Blake would remember me?" I didn't mean to ask that last part. My mom never approved of him because he is four years older than me. She stared at me with a stern look for a few minutes.
"We are not going back for you to go back to your little whatever you call it with him. You're seventeen, he is twenty one years old now. It's an underage relationship. I raised you better than that..." She replied and then stormed out of my room. I rolled my eyes and zipped up my last suitcase. I looked around my room for the last time, then walked out, closing the door behind me. I walked downstairs to see my mom and dad sitting in the kitchen, drinking their last coffee made in this house.
"I'm ready when you guys are." I sat my suitcases by the front door and walked into the kitchen.
Thirty minutes later
I looked at the front of the house one last time before getting into the backseat of our car. "I might actually miss this place." I smiled.
"We all will hun." My dad replied. The ride back to Blackstone, Virginia felt like forever, but the whole time, my mind was set on him, nothing else. We finally arrived at the new house, which by the way, was right down the street from Blake's house, if he still lives there that is. The house was three stories and it was huge.
"Dibs on the attic!" I laughed. I enjoyed having a room in the attic, isolated from everyone else.
"No one, but you wants the attic Nicky." My mom joked.
"Still. Just making sure you all know." I smiled at her. I stepped out of the car and grabbed my stuff. I hurried into the house, which was quite a walk. I finally reached the front door and walked in. I stopped in my tracks and gasped at the sight. "It's already furnished?" I turned to my dad.
"Yes, I had some of my people come here early and furnish it. Wait until you see your room." My dad smiled. With that, I was off, running up both of the stair cases and reached my room. I dropped my bags and screamed in excitement.
"This. Is. Amazing!" I yelled louder than I thought. My room was my dream room. White painted walls with splatter painted bed sheets. A huge walk-in closet, which already had all new clothing hung up. It was amazing, I loved it. It had three dressers, also filled with new clothing, except one, a computer on a desk, a vanity, wood floors with different colored rugs all over, and my own art studio, connected to my room.
Art was my passion, hence the white walls. I've always wanted white walls to put my own artwork on them. I ran down both stair cases and hugged my dad tightly. "Thank you so much dad. I love my room! It is my dream room." My dad and I were closer than my mom and I, so he knows exactly what I like. He doesn't know all of my secrets, and he never will, no one will, except Blake.
"You're welcome hun. I knew you would like it." My dad kissed my forehead and then let me go. "Now go, go explore the house, or the neighborhood." He smiled. I ran out of the house like a little school girl smiling.
Almost automatically, my legs took me to Blake's house. I went up to the front door and knocked nervously. I stood there for about a minute before someone opened the door, an old woman. "Does Blake Sanders still live here?" I asked nervously.
"Nicole? Nicole Williams? Is that you!?" The lady asked. At first I didn't realize it, but she was Blake's mother.
"Teresa! Is that really you? I have missed you!" I practically shouted before I hugged her.
"I've missed you to sweetie. And to answer your question, Blake no longer lives in this house, but right on the next block, he does. He has missed you." She smiled at me.
"Really?" I couldn't help but blush.
Before Teresa answered, she invited me inside the house, of course I went in. "This house hasn't changed a bit." I smiled while walking in further.
"Take a seat honey. My home is your home, as always. Did you and your family just come back?" She asked.
"Yes, in that house up the street. And thank you." I smiled and sat down on the couch. Teresa came and sat down next to me, offering me a bottle of water, I took it.
"That big house? The three story one?" She asked.
"Yes, that's the one." I sipped my water slowly.
"Are you going to stay here?" She smiled with hope in her eyes.
"Yes." I answered while smiling at her.
"Blake usually visits me everyday around this time. Please stay here. He will be ecstatic to see you again." She smiled at me.
I was about to say something back, but I heard the front door opening. My heart almost popped out of my chest, it was beating rapidly. I stared at the door as he walked in, hotter than ever. Teresa stood in front of me, blocking him from seeing me.
"Hey mom." His voice, oh my god, I felt like melting at the sound of it.
"Hi sweetheart. I have a surprise for you." I knew Teresa was referring to me. "Close your eyes." Teresa told Blake and he listened.
"Mom, you know I don't like surprises." He replied.
"Trust me, you'll like this one." Teresa stepped away from me so I can stand up, so I did. I must've been redder than a cherry. "Now open your eyes." Teresa told Blake, and he listened.
"Mom I don't-" he stopped talking when he saw me. "Ni-Nicole?" He stuttered. "Am I dreaming?" He asked.
"N-No, yo-you're not dre-dreaming. It's re-really me." I also stuttered, he has that affect on me. I walked a little closer to him.
"Well, I think my cookies are burning." Teresa excused herself from the living room to tend to her cookies. Blake walked closer to me as well.
We couldn't be any closer without touching. I had to look up at him as he had to look down at me. Damn my shortness. "You haven't gotten any taller, have you?" He joked. I playfully slapped his chest... his muscular toned chest.
"Shut up. I see you have grown taller." I joked back.
"Just a little. What are you, five feet tall?" He continued to joke.
"No! Five one actually!" I said back while giggling. Then it was silent for about two minutes before he hugged me, wrapping his arm around my shoulders and I wrapping mine around his waist. "I have missed that face of yours." I said honestly.
"And I have missed my best friend." He said with such a gentle tone. "Let me take you out to dinner tonight." He looked down at me and smiled.
"How can I say no to that smile?" I giggled. It was set, we're going on a date tonight, I'm so excited.
