The summer sun was shining brightly as Rose and Leo sat on their front porch, sipping iced tea and enjoying the warmth of the day. The air was filled with the sounds of birds chirping and the distant laughter of children playing in the neighborhood. It was a peaceful moment, one of those rare times when life seemed to slow down just enough for them to reflect on where they were and where they wanted to go.

Rose glanced over at Leo, who was gazing out at the trees with a thoughtful expression. She knew that look well—it was the look he got when he was deep in contemplation, thinking about something important. She reached out and gently touched his arm, drawing his attention back to her.

"Penny for your thoughts?" Rose asked with a smile.

Leo turned to her, his eyes softening as he took her hand in his. "I've been thinking a lot lately... about our future."

Rose's heart skipped a beat. She had been thinking about the same thing, but she wasn't sure how to bring it up. "What about our future?"

Leo hesitated for a moment, then took a deep breath. "I think... I'm ready for the next step. I want us to start a family, Rose. I want to have a baby with you."

The words hung in the air for a moment, and Rose felt a rush of emotions—excitement, love, and a little bit of nervousness. She had always known that she wanted to be a mother, but hearing Leo say it out loud made it feel more real, more immediate.

"I've been thinking about that too," Rose admitted, her voice soft but steady. "I want to have a baby with you, Leo. I want to build a life together, with a family of our own."

Leo's face broke into a smile, his relief and happiness evident. "Really? You mean it?"

Rose nodded, squeezing his hand. "Yes, I mean it. I love you, and I want to take this next step with you."

They sat in silence for a moment, both of them processing the decision they had just made. It was a big step, one that would change their lives forever, but it felt right. They had been married for almost a year now, and their love had only grown stronger. Starting a family felt like the natural next chapter in their story.

"What do you think about starting to try soon?" Leo asked, his voice filled with hope.

Rose smiled, her heart swelling with love for the man sitting beside her. "I think that sounds perfect. Let's do it."

Leo leaned in and kissed her, a kiss filled with all the love and excitement they felt for the future they were about to create together. When they pulled away, they both had tears in their eyes, but they were tears of joy.

"Whatever happens, we'll face it together," Leo said softly, his hand resting on Rose's cheek.

"Together," Rose echoed, her voice filled with certainty.

As they sat there, hand in hand, Rose and Leo felt a deep sense of peace and anticipation.
