This story is a version of the werewolf omegaverse.
The world in which the story happens is populated by dragon shapeshifters.
Here are some of the "rules" of this omegaverse:
Beta and Omega are closer to alternate terms for biological sex, meaning betas are male and omegas are female.
An alpha is the strongest dragon in a geographical region, and rules over the area like a king. They can be deposed by a beta during a physical challenge.
Every ten years a ceremony is held in which the population of each region chooses a partner (if the requested person accepts then a "marriage" begins).
There is no mating, just partnership.
There are four kind of dragon shapeshifters:
-Fersekis (normal dragons): they don't have special abilities.
-Setheries (water dragons): they have healing abilities and can breath under water.
-Kerkyres (fire dragons): they can control fire.
-Treshkes (electricity dragons): they can control electricity and create storms.
