"We need to be careful," she whispered gently, her voice barely audible over the bustling streets of customers shopping for presents for the winter holiday right around the corner, "You can't risk being seen by anyone, especially old schoolmates."
I nodded, a grim expression shadowing my face as we eyed the evening activity. Silently observing the drunk patrons, lingering by the entrance of the Three Broomsticks.
"I know, we need to get to the shop quickly. The best thing to do is stick by the shadows," I eyed her from the corner of my eye. With a stiff shake of her head, she slipped into the dark alleyways, covered by the shadow of the moon that loomed overhead. I followed close by, like a shadow of her soul as we hid under the starlight.
"Quick, hide!" She hissed, grasping my hand, as she casted a Disillusionment spell, hiding us from the outside world.
"There's another way that would help us get in undetected, though it does involve sneaking underground through the old cemetery," she murmured, her hot breath tickling the tips of my ear. A thrill that shivered down my spine in delight, a feeling of intimacy that only caused me to tighten my hands into fists. Her presence which was a blessing was slowly turning into a sense of torment as it made it impossible to focus on anything else.
"Sebastian?"
"Huh?"
"What do you think? It is a bit dark but it will lead us directly underneath Stitches and Draughts," she pushed, her eyes bright with a gleam of devious delight. Her excitement of sneaking beneath the shadows of the silver light was impossible to miss.
"You've done this plenty before haven't you?" I smirked as she directed her gaze where the cemetery stood, the shadow of a grin stuffed beneath a tensed frown.
"I had a great teacher, he taught me the art of silence."
"Did he now?"
"Oh yes, but it seems like the student has now become the teacher," she smirked, the teasing bringing us back to a familiar rhythm before hell broke loose.
Without a second of hesitation, she raised her wand high above her hand before flicking it into a circular motion, recasting Disillusionment. Her form rippled before finally blending into the surroundings, I quickly followed suit feeling a sense of déjà vu. Where the world was much quieter, and it was just me ...and the girl that stole my heart many years ago.

*6 Years Ago*"You know, there's always been something magical about this place," I said, turning to her as the wind swept through her untamed hair making her look even more mysterious than she already seemed.
We stood close beside each other, the view of the setting sun over Black Lake cast a warm hue over the usual grey water. The gentle lapping of the waves brought a sense of calmness over the already hectic school year that had just begun. It was almost unbelievable to think that she hadn't been a part of my life until barely 6 months ago. Yet it hadn't seemed that short of time with how seamlessly she made me feel at home every time she was near. We continued to gaze at the setting sun entranced by the view. I stole a quick glance at her from the corner of my eyes, studying the beauty that radiated from her and sent my heart into a gallop.
She turned her face, her full attention on me as she smiled the most radiant smile ever known to man before she spoke slowly like oozing honey warming me from within.
"I know what you mean, it's almost as if the rest of the world fades away," she said softly "and time just stands still."
I reached out, tucking the flying strand of hair behind her red tipped ear. My finger traced slowly down behind her ear, following the natural curves of her face until I gently tipped her chin up to face me.
