I... I can't recall who I am...
Dusk began to settle upon the rural town known as Gravity Falls. Blemishes of pink and orange spill across the sky like paint strokes by an artist as stars shimmered softly on the busy canvas. A small breeze drifts through the woodland Nana finds herself in. The floral life surrounding her sway to the weather's command, ecosystems humming a tune. It was peaceful throughout the day. Moments ago, the sun had kissed her olive skin and shone her numerous paths she could take. It was easy to find her way.
However, with night creeping in and swallowing the landscape with its lunar glow, Nana became lost. The woman is swarmed by thoughts of her origins. Just who is she? And where did she come from? All day, Nana traveled on hill country backroads and through thick foliage. Not once, has she met a single person. A part of her is afraid. The unknown isn't to be taken lightly. As far as the raven-haired traveler knows-- she is in a foreign land.
With no one to rely on and a flimsy memory, one must look after themself.
Nana winces. She inhales a sharp breath and leans against a sturdy oak tree. Her unkept bangs block her vision and shadow the look of anxiety spreading across her features. The woman holds herself, trying to contain her frustration.
"Why can't I remember? What even is my name-?"
A hideous roar echoes throughout the valley, shaking the trees with its earthly tone. A shiver runs down her spine. Without a second thought, she's crouching and pressed against the tree. Her heart is beating against her ribcage erratically. She can feel how harshly she's trembling. Nana sighs softly, squeezing her eyes shut. The white, long nightgown she adorns feels too revealing now-- even though the material is thick and has multiple layers and ruffles on the bottom.
The soles of her feet ache. The need to take off the black, leather made shoes she has on grew stronger by the minuet. Would she be able to run away from a beast? Another shiver runs down her spine.
I can't die now! That would be both lame and scary!
Nana stays next to the old oak tree. She listens to sounds of the forest, peeling her eyes open to take in her surroundings. The monster hasn't been heard of again. Perhaps it went to sleep? A glimmer of hope sparkles within her eyes. As quietly as the woman can, she stands up and makes her way down the steep valley hills.
Exhaustion seeps into her bones and weigh them down. It became increasingly difficult to continue. Yet, a man's voice lured her from her sleepy state. She stands up taller, hoping the sound wasn't from her imagination. Nana crept silently to the man's location. She holds her gown in tight fists to avoid the thick material from catching onto any weeds or branches.
