As the calm night continues on, both William and Murata were walking back to the injured slayers. William’s walk was steady and slow as he noticed Murata’s walk was sluggish, indicating that Murata had been fighting for a long while. As they continued walking, Murata took a glance at William, he felt intimidated by the hunter due to his attire, his face being covered by his cap and mask, and how he disappeared in a cloud of grey fog. Silence was present between the two, Murata tried to spark a conversation, but was unable to, due to his to William’s appearance, within the span of a few moments and a quick deep breath, Murata ignited a conversation between him and William.
“About your weapon, how does it work, and who is this ‘old hunter’ you speak of?” Murata asked, his voice filled with curiosity and nervousness.
William heard the young Demon Slayer’s question, he took a glance at him and proceeded to ask Murata’s question.
“The Rakuyo and its owner?” William replied as he unsheathed the Rakuyo and showed it to Murata. “I can’t tell you her name, but I can tell you what she does. For the most part, she was a student of the First Hunter, Gehrman, she was a skilled hunter capable of taking down many beasts with ease with her weapons”
“Can you tell me more?” Murata asked, as he took a look at the long bladed weapon.
“She wields the weapons Rakuyo which I am currently holding, and Evelyn which is kept safe within the workshop.”
“Why does it have a short blade at the end of its hilt?”
“The reason why the Rakuyo has a blade at the end of its hilt, is simply that it is a trick weapon.”
William then splits the Rakuyo making the weapon into two separate blades, Murata glanced at the weapon with genuine curiosity, of all his time at the Corp, he never saw a weapon that was called a trick weapon. After a few moments, William merges the two blades back together and puts it back in its sheath.
“As I said it before,” William said once more, “this weapon commands great dexterity, especially when holding two blades at the same time”
William deliberately left out Lady Maria’s name, and the Rakuyo’s true origin, as he didn’t want to reveal the secrets of Cainhurst, the Hunter’s Nightmare, and the secrets and horror of the old blood. He doesn’t want anyone to creep near Yharnam, The Hunter's Dream and Nightmare, and the old blood. As an effort to spare everyone about Yharnam’s secrets, he purposefully left out any important details relating to Yharnam and the old blood’s secrets.
“Can you tell me more about this Hunter’s Workshop?” Murata said once more.
“The Hunter’s Workshop,” William replied, “to put it simply, it’s a place for us hunters to take rest, or to repair our weapons.”
“What are these beasts you speak of earlier, are they like demons?” Murata then asks another question.
“Ah, beasts to put it simply; yes they are similar. They were once human, who got sick with a beastly scourge. Over time, people who are infected with the scourge slowly succumb to the sickness. They turn into horrific beasts, they scream not out of malice, but in pain. Us hunters are tasked with killing them and putting them to rest.”
“Beasts are rather hard to kill” William said once more “That’s why we use trick weapons like the Rakuyo, it greatly helps us when dealing with beasts.”
Murata said nothing, and their conversation then fell into calm silence, as they continued walking, the calm atmosphere was accompanied by the footsteps of the hunter and the demon slayer, moonlight still shines upon the forest, their paths were easy to navigate through. After a couple of minutes of walking, both William and Murata found themselves back to the injured demon slayers.
