The morning sun filtered through the thin curtains of Jaéclyn's apartment, casting a soft glow over the living room. The echoes of last night's party were still fresh in her mind, mingling with the groggy feeling of early morning. Outside, the streets of the city were just beginning to wake up, and the usual hustle and bustle was still a few hours away.

Jaéclyn stood by the front door, watching through the peephole as Treyvon's Uber pulled up. The excitement of the previous night had given way to a quiet melancholy. Her apartment felt unusually empty without the energy of Ciëlle's post-party mess or Maddie's relentless chatter.

"Guess this is it, huh?" Jaéclyn said, trying to inject some cheerfulness into her voice as she opened the door. She stepped out onto the stoop, followed by Ciëlle and Maddie, who were both still in various states of sleepiness.

Treyvon, looking refreshed despite the early hour, gave Jaéclyn a warm hug. "Yeah, I gotta get back to the grind. Thanks for letting me crash, sis."

"You're always welcome," Jaéclyn said, pulling him into a tight embrace. "Safe travels, little brother. We'll catch up soon, right?"

"Definitely," Treyvon replied, his grin never wavering. "I'll call you when I'm back in town. And make sure you keep an eye out for some random packages; I might send you something special."

Jaéclyn laughed softly. "I'll be on the lookout. Take care of yourself."

As Treyvon climbed into the waiting Uber, Jaéclyn watched with a mix of sadness and gratitude. The car pulled away, and the three friends were left standing in the cool morning air. Ciëlle, who had been buzzing with energy the night before, now leaned against the building, her posture relaxed.

"I'm gonna miss that boy," Ciëlle said with a sigh. "He was a lot of fun."

"Yeah, he was," Jaéclyn agreed. Her thoughts drifted back to Zaêyvion and their brief but intense interaction. Despite the early hour and the chill in the air, she found herself longing to revisit the moments they had shared.

"Well," Maddie said, breaking the silence, "what's next on the agenda for today? Or is it a stay-in-bed-all-day kind of day?"

Jaéclyn glanced at her phone, noting the time. "I guess I should get some studying done. Finals are coming up fast. But if you guys are up for it, we could grab brunch later."

"Sounds good to me," Ciëlle said, stretching and yawning. "Just let me shower and wake up properly."

Maddie nodded in agreement. "Brunch it is. And maybe after that, we can talk about our next party plan."

Zaêyvion's POV

Zaêyvion leaned against the cool metal of his car, parked a few blocks away from Jaéclyn's apartment. The club had been a blast, but it was the fleeting encounter with Jaéclyn that lingered in his mind. He watched as the scene unfolded—a casual morning departure for Treyvon, Jaéclyn's warm farewell, and the lingering hint of sadness as her brother's Uber disappeared down the street.

There was something about her that intrigued him. Even from a distance, Jaéclyn had an effortless grace, a quiet confidence that drew him in. He'd seen many people come and go through the club, but she stood out. The way she moved, the way she looked at him during their dance—it was different. There was an unspoken story behind her eyes that made him want to know more.

He took a deep breath, savoring the crisp morning air. The club's after-hours had given him time to reflect, and now, seeing Jaéclyn's morning routine only intensified his curiosity. He had noticed how she seemed to step into her role as a friend, the way she interacted with Treyvon, Ciëlle, and Maddie. It was clear she was a person who valued connections deeply, a trait he found both compelling and rare.

Zaêyvion's mind raced with possibilities. He knew he had to be careful—not to come on too strong, not to scare her away. There was a delicate balance between showing interest and overwhelming her. Yet, the way she had looked at him, even in the chaos of the club, had left a mark on him.

He walked back to his car, his thoughts focused on the next time he'd see her. He wasn't one to push for instant gratification, but he knew their paths were destined to cross again. There was a certain pull, a connection that felt like it was meant to happen. He wanted to explore that, to uncover the layers beneath Jaéclyn's exterior.

As he started his car, he glanced one last time at the apartment building where Jaéclyn lived. The morning light was casting a soft glow on the windows, and he felt a sense of anticipation for the future.

He wasn't sure how things would unfold, but he was determined to be ready for whatever came next. Jaéclyn Monét had entered his world with a spark, and he intended to find out just how bright that spark could be.
