Chapter 54

Liu Weijuan was woken up by the voice of the cleaner outside. When she saw the clock on the wall pointed to ten o'clock, her scattered sleepiness was completely gone.

"Why did I sleep so late?" Liu Weijuan rubbed her short hair in annoyance.

She tossed and turned until late last night, and her mind was full of random thoughts. She thought her biological clock was always on time, but she slept until noon.

How would people look at her? Would they think she was a lazy person?

"Pah pah pah"

In the bathroom, Liu Weijuan splashed a handful of water on her face. Perhaps because she was exhausted, or because of a good night's sleep, or perhaps because of a change in her mentality, the girl in the mirror seemed to be less lifeless, and instead had a feeling of spring coming back to life.

She fiddled with the mirror for a long time, but it still looked rustic. Liu Weijuan sighed, moved away from the mirror, and pushed the door out.

"Comrade, you're awake. President Xu asked you to go to the restaurant after you wake up." The waiter outside the door greeted her with a friendly smile.

"Please follow me."

The waiter walked slowly in front of us and led the way. It was called a restaurant, but it was actually an independent private room with an elegant and generous decoration style. It felt like a place specially used to receive distinguished guests.

Xu Zeming sat on the sofa chair beside the table and read the newspaper attentively. In front of him were the tools for making tea, and the room was filled with the fragrance of tea.

Noticing the arrival of someone, the man calmly put down the newspaper. Because he was sitting, he pushed his glasses when his eyes looked over, and raised his chin slightly to signal: "Here, please sit down."

"You can serve the dishes."

"Yes." When dealing with him, the waiter's eyes were more cautious.

In less than five minutes, all the dishes were served, and the waiter closed the door with a tactful look, leaving the two of them a private space to talk.

"I don't know what you like to eat, so I asked them to arrange special dishes. If it doesn't suit your taste, you can order more."

"No, it won't, it's very good." Or it can be said that it's very good, and it's a dish they can't eat during the Chinese New Year.

Liu Weijuan didn't rush to pick up her chopsticks. She glanced at him quickly, and after their eyes met, she lowered her head and apologized, "Sorry, I got up late."

"It's okay. I can understand that young people are sleepy."

"Xu, Hui,"

"Call me Uncle Xu. Don't be so polite."

Liu Weijuan bit her lip, "President Xu, thank you for taking me in yesterday, otherwise I would have been homeless yesterday."

"If I met a stranger, I would lend a hand in such a situation. What's more, I am an old friend of your parents."

"I know you have questions for me, but let's eat first and then talk. What do you think?"

After finishing the meal in silence, Liu Weijuan learned another version of the story from the man.

A story about an adopted son, a maid, a servant, a young lady and a young master.

...

After the college entrance examination, the village was in a period of leisure, and Shen Yu seemed to be the only busy person.
