Jungkook wasn't really going to the university or anywhere else, he didn't have the heart or mind to deal with people, for the time being at least. This particularly reduces to one conclusion, it has been a long time since he has seen Taehyung; as much as he is dying to, he couldn't help the state he was in. He isn't even sure if Taehyung felt anything about this altogether, about him. The hope in Jungkook has him thinking whether there was a chance that the elder has any feelings for him? Not that he expects, be it for the sake of the leftover hope, he wants to believe that he still has a chance even if it's later in future. With thoughts like this, and the memories from the first ever fight between the two of them, Jungkook's already occupied mind stops when his vision registers a familiar figure a few meters down the pavement. In the greener part of the park, over an isolated bench, there seems to be a man sitting unmotivated. Imagine Jungkook's surprise when he walks closer and finally makes out the familiar figure to be Taehyung, the man he loves, even more when he watches the state he is in. It appears as if Taehyung had suffered around the same extent as Jungkook, if not more, and it breaks his heart to find his teacher like this. It wasn't in his plan to see Taehyung any time soon, but maybe it was destined, because just when the thought of running away crossed his mind, Taehyung had looked in his direction. It would be a lie if Jungkook said he didn't see the hopeless eyes get brighter again, even if it was a little bit, and that made him not walk away.
Taehyung on the other hand had stood up from where he was seated, hands hanging low by his sides, a ray of hope lingering on his face. Jungkook had gestured that he would come to the elder, and he did.
'Let's face it head on, it's for the best.' Jungkook reminded himself.
And down a minute walk, he was forced to drown in the memories of the incident that has them like this in the first place.
The university had the same liveliness to it, though his eyes still search for a certain someone, his existence as a whole still longs for a certain person. Although he has decided to lay low, his heart still beats faster upon thinking of Taehyung, a smile still sticks to Jungkook's mouth upon thinking of Taehyung. And the same happens all his way to his class. He folds his arms over his bag on the desk, resting his chin over to look around mindlessly. He notices there are more groups formed than usual, everyone having their part to contribute in whatever conversation they have going. Good for them, he thinks, and a stupid smile comes back on his face when he realises he is too busy to think about Taehyung than pay any mind to whatever is going on. Until, his passive hearing catches upon something. He would have usually paid no heed if it weren't for the word 'dating' accompanied with Taehyung's name.
"What?" He stood up from his seat alarmed, forcing his way into the ongoing gossip. "What did you just say?"
"Prof-" The student was startled but he collected himself back before answering, "Professor Kim is dating."
"Who started this rumour?"
"Rumour, dude, Euiyoung saw Prof Kim and Prof Park together Monday morning." He completes as he steps back, because Jungkook looks concerned.
"Park- Professor Seojoon?" Jungkook's anxiety starts picking up.
"Yes, him. And you know what's even more thrilling? Euiyoung said Mr Park had hickies all over his neck, it's not even that cold- he clearly tried hiding them with a scarf as soon as he got out of his car." Another classmate added while placing his hand on Jungkook's shoulder.
"I guess Mr Kim is as bold as he is strict. Seems like you have no chance now, Jeon." Another joins, breaking a laughter among his group with his remark.
