Akshara Goenka was someone who had known loss intimately, having experienced it repeatedly throughout her life. Her struggles began when she was just a baby, losing her mother before she even had a chance to form memories of her. As she grew up, Akshara devoted herself to being a good daughter and a loving sister, pouring all her love and energy into her family, especially her sister, Arohi. Akshara's love for Arohi surpassed her love for herself, and she would do anything to make her sister happy, even at great personal cost.

Despite her efforts, Akshara never received the same kindness in return. From an early age, Arohi harbored an inexplicable hatred towards Akshara, which only intensified when they discovered they were step-siblings. Arohi weaponized this revelation, using it to justify her animosity. Whenever Arohi faced disappointment or sought to rationalize her behavior, she would invoke the fact that they were step-siblings, arguing that Akshara received preferential treatment because Sirat was the second wife.

After they lost both Sirat and Kartik, Arohi's mistreatment escalated from cold indifference to outright verbal and emotional abuse. Yet, she was careful to maintain a facade of mere annoyance when others were around, never crossing the line in front of family. In private, however, Arohi's cruelty knew no bounds. She relentlessly gaslit Akshara, using Sirat's death as a tool to manipulate her. Arohi guilt-tripped Akshara to such an extent that Akshara chose to leave everything behind, spending four long years in isolation at a hostel. She hoped that this sacrifice would lessen Arohi's hatred, perhaps even earn her acceptance. Instead, Akshara only received more blame in return.

When Akshara returned to Udaipur after a self-imposed exile, Abhimanyu entered her life. Despite her efforts to distance herself from him, largely due to Arohi's influence and gaslighting, destiny had other plans. Abhimanyu became Akshara's guardian angel, rescuing her not only from the suffocating grip of her family but also from the darkness within herself. Together, they faced numerous obstacles—sometimes in the form of family members, other times as complete strangers—yet, no matter the challenge, they always found their way back to each other. Through Abhimanyu, Akshara began to rediscover hope and strength, learning that she was worthy of love and happiness, despite the cruelty she had endured.

Until everything was shattered by an incident that tore their world apart, plunging Akshara into yet another abyss. This time, the pain was inflicted by Abhimanyu himself—the very person who had once saved her, who had made her believe in herself when no one else did. The man who had guided her out of the darkness now became the one to push her back into it. But this time, the fall was deeper, more devastating.
