Diana's POV

I wonder if the Shadow Kors are the rumoured fallen angels of Earth, they're so gorgeous but for all the wrong reasons. Like the twirling demon horns, the bat wings and the red deviant cross in all their eyes.

Still, when they mimic my human appearance, they look healthier. Before they were creatures of waste.

Now they have more inside, a taste of light and of hope, making them easier to relate to.

Wolf-Rayet leads his squad closer, he's my main competitor in the dream palace he's concocted for me.

I lunge closer and swing the silver and blue-edged sword at the Entary. Without effort his footwork takes him out of range.

For a few more moments, he lets me think I can attack again, but then he moves forward into my space, swiping his humongous black sword at me. It's graceful and effortless when he performs with it. The wide blade swinging at me is blood curdling – I can only avoid it by flying. Wolf-Rayet watches me use Dark Star power to float backwards, my own advantage.

I keep using it, floating a few feet off the ground – and when he steps closer, I float up a little higher, gaining the height advantage.

"Where are you going?" Wolf-Rayet grins, flaring out his wings but not flying to match me yet, "Come back down here – or are you scared of me?"

He had only been a trained warrior for eternity – I had a few weeks experience with off and on training with my Kors... on Dark Ninth.

My Kors.

Ha. Why do I still think they are mine?

The thought distracts me from Wolf-Rayet lifting his hand with the thin chain attached to my bangles. It was extensive, like a long leash – but he slowly wraps it around his hand, gently pulling me closer one inch at a time.

I see why he shackled me with pretty chains, he could drag me closer whenever he wanted.

Since he wants to erase the distance between us, I stop floating with the free power. Instead, I drop to my feet and I throw the sword at him – thinking I'm smart.

Wolf-Rayet is surprised, his eyes widen at how precise and fast I've tossed it toward his torso.

But he flicks up a wrist at the right time – and he simply catches my revolving weapon.

"Damn it," I growl out, while his squad just smile at my silly attempt to cut him.

Now the Entary has two, his large black sword and my dainty one.

"Don't ever do that again, that was idiotic," Wolf-Rayet shakes his head at me and tosses me back the silver sword.

I catch it in the air and he shakes his head at me as he walks around me, circling me, "Mars won't give you a second chance anymore," Wolf-Rayet hisses with passion, "Come to kill me, don't play."

I ignore the fact I'm in chains, and I rush at Wolf-Rayet, using my Stealth to hide most of my physical position.

I try to stab the sword toward his chest, but his weapon gently shoves me back with an effortless tap. I try again, while he searches for me – I try to slash at his wings, of course he dodges first – but then he joins me.

The Entary Stealths too.

And he's not alone in that decision, either.

His squad must have some kind of direct link to him – because they all Stealth at the same time.

Not this again.

I quickly tip toe backwards, trying to keep quiet. The chain has disappeared between us, invisible to both our eyes, although I feel a tug at it – and he can physically understand which direction I've gone via that technique.
