Betrayal

Several days have passed. Raiden won the Mortal Kombat Championship. Liu Kang had sent Johnny Cage, Kung Lao and Kenshi to look for Shang Tsung. But they arrived empty-handed, Kenshi even lost his sight. At least you have new allies with Syzoth, Ashra and Baraka. With what they discovered, Liu Kang asked the Lin Kuei for help. Sub Zero, Scorpion and Smoke have arrived and are talking while they wait for Liu Kang to see them. You join the three brothers.

''Hi. Sorry for the wait, Lord Liu Kang is really busy and has to finish things before welcoming you. Would you like a cup of tea while you wait?''.

-No- Sub Zero said coldly.

--No thanks Y/N, but thanks for offering--.

You bow and leave. '' At least, Kuai Liang and Tomas aren't cold like Bi Han ''. You try hard to get along with Bi Han, after all he's Kuai Liang's brother, but he doesn't make it easy for you.

Later, with Raiden and Kung Lao, you brought Sub Zero, Scorpion and Smoke to Liu Kang. Tomas makes a weird face when you arrive. Kung Lao bows.

-Lord Liu Kang can see you now- Raiden said.

-It is about time- Sub Zero said with his usual cold tone.

On your way to see Liu Kang, you lean towards Tomas. ''Is everything okay Tomas?''.

-Y-yes I'm fine Y/N-. You look at Kuai Liang.

--It only conserns the three of us Y/N--.

'' Why do I feel Bi Han did something? ''.

You all surround a table, there is a map and pawns on the map. Liu Kang says his plan by moving a pawn.

-Shang Tsung is here, at the ruins of Ying Fortress. His soul stealers are already under construction. You must destroy them, and capture Shang Tsung, before either can inflict harm upon Earthrealm-. 

-We will leave immediately- Sub Zero said.

-And we will join you- adds Raiden. Kung Lao nodds.

-You are not Lin Kuei. You would only hinder the effort- Sub Zero said haughtily.

-Raiden, Y/N and I are more than...- Kung Lao said as he approached him and pointed at him.

--We're trained diffenrently. It takes years to master our ways--.

Kung Lao understands.

-You, Y/N and Raiden have my full confidence, but you are needed elsewhere- Liu Kang said as he approached the three of you. Then he said with a serious tone and face: -Go to the Wu Shi. The monks must prepare you for war-.

''For war, Lord Liu Kang? Do we really have to come to this?''.

-I hope not Y/N, but we better be ready-.

''I understand''. 

You join Kuai Liang.

--Sorry for what Bi Han said, he could have said things better. We have nothing against you three--.

''Don't worry Kuai Liang, I understand what you mean. There is not resentment''. Yes it hurt what Bi Han said, but you don't want to let him demoralize you. 

--Good-- Kuai Liang said, smilling.

''Be careful Kuai Liang, Shang Tsung seems to be dangerous''. 

Kuai Liang looks at you surprised and blushes a little. You notice that you took his hand without realizing it. The others look at you with a raised eyebrow, Tomas smiles slightly. You release his hand and you turn red.

''A-and you too, Tomas, be careful. You too Grandmaster Bi Han. Man, I just feel like disappearing ''.

--We'll be careful, Y/N. Bye--.

''Bye''. 

They leave, Bi Han still looks at you weirdly as they leave. Kung Lao starts laughing.

''Don't laugh, I feel so embarrassed'' you say, turning to him.

-Someone seem have a crush on Kuai Liang- Kung Lao said with a mocking tone.

''Stop'' you say, putting your face in your hands.

-Leave Y/N alone Kung Lao. There's nothing wrong with that- Raiden said, putting a hand on Kung Lao's shoulder.

-Okay okay, I'll leave her alone... for the moment-.

You sigh loudly and you roll your eyes to the sky.

You are very worried about Kuai Liang. For Tomas and Bi Han also obviously, but especially for Kuai Liang. The mission was not successful, the soul stealers are activated. You are waiting in front of the teleportation portal of the Wu Shi academy.

 A portal appears.

Liu Kang comes out, followed by Tomas and Kuai Liang. He carries Bi Han on his shoulders.

''What happened?''.

Liu Kang shakes his head. -Things are bad Y/N. I'll take Bi Han to get treatment. You should go too Kuai Liang-.

''The son of...''. You refrain from continuing, you're not going to say that in front of them. You are filled with anger like never before. You just want to go see Bi Han and seriously kick his ass. But now it's not the time, helping Kuai Liang comes first. You take a deep breath to calm down. ''Come, we need to take care of you''.

You take Kuai Liang hand and take him to the infirmary. Tomas follows you.
