Sir Reginald Hargreeves, eccentric billionaire and adventurer, resolved to locate and adopt as many of the children as possible.
He got seven of them.
Four years later, the billionaire decided that those seven weren't enough, and so he spent his time crafting another in a lab, using his own DNA.
