Jimin's POV

"Min, did you really eat all the food?..... There were 15 mandu!.... You must’ve been starving," Mom said, her voice a mix of concern and disbelief.

It all started this morning. I managed to sneak out without anyone noticing, but when I got back from work, everyone was ready for an explanation.

Jungkook has a huge appetite, especially for Mom’s cooking. He must have eaten a ton last night. Poor Kookie. Now, everyone thinks I was the one who finished all the leftovers. What can I say? I just can’t bring myself to tell them the truth yet.

"Mom, I told you... I was so hungry yesterday. I...I couldn't even manage to eat my breakfast or lunch... so, I just..just finished everything," I said, pouting a bit for effect. I knew I had to put on a convincing act, so I fibbed a little…

"Sohei and Li, you two better stop teasing my baby. ....  Come here, Min," Appa called out from the living room. With a mischievous grin, I dashed over to join dad.

"When is Mr. Jeon coming? I really want to meet him and thank him for everything he's done for me, for us," Appa said, a warm smile spreading across his face.

"Sohei, Li, leave my baby alone! ..... Min, come here,......" Appa called from the living room, a playful smile on his face. I couldn’t help but grin as I quickly ran over to join him.

"When’s Mr. Jeon coming? .....I really want to meet him and thank him for everything he’s done for me....., for all of us," Appa said, his face lighting up with a warm, grateful smile.

“Oh, Appa, I’m sure my boss is just really busy, but he’ll visit you soon, ..... I promise,” I said, trying to reassure him, though I felt a little flutter of excitement.

I couldn’t help but wonder why Jungkookie hadn’t come to see Appa yet. I needed to ask him about it. Maybe I should tease him a bit for keeping Appa waiting... The memories of last night flashed through my mind, filling me with warmth and a smile.

"Jimin, where’ve you been? I’ve been calling you forever!" Lisa teased, handing me the milkshake with a smirk.

"Sorry, sis, I was daydreaming

"Sorry, sis, I was daydreaming. Mmm, smells like dragon fruit," I said, realizing how spaced out I’d been.

"That’s because it is dragon fruit, Min. Are you even here right now?" she playfully scolded, and I couldn’t help but pout.

‘Get it together, Jimin,’ I told myself, trying to shake off the distraction with a little laugh.

“Min, what happened yesterday? Sweetheart.....” Mom asked, clearly worried. Oh no, what do I say now?

“Uh, Mom, it’s nothing, really..... Don’t worry about it,....” I tried to downplay it, but they weren’t buying it.

“Seriously, Min, don’t hide things from us,......” Sissy added, her tone gentle but firm. “You came home from the office in tears—that’s not nothing..... So come on, tell us what’s going on,” she said, her eyes full of concern.
