You Are In Love - Caroline Ducharme

Caroline was ready for basketball right after her head injuries and neck problems. As usual, Caroline walked into practice today, and it went smoothly for a few hours. Until she noticed someone familiar on the other side of the gym on the cheerleader side.

The thing is the gym is huge so when UConn has practices they have the cheerleaders on one side and the basketball players on the other side plus it also feels like it's at a real game.

Caroline saw a short brunette girl with brown eyes and Caroline knew who it was and she had gotten even prettier than the last time Caroline saw her.

After a break at practice, Caroline decided to walk up and talk to the girl.

"Hey Mads," Caroline says.

"Ducharme," Maddie says.

"I thought you were done talking to me since the last time I saw you," Caroline says to the brunette who rolls her eyes.

"Looks like I don't have a choice," Maddie says.

Caroline always loved Maddie. Caroline and Maddie went to the same high school Caroline was the star player everyone wanted her except for Maddie and Caroline didn't know why. Caroline would do anything to get Maddie's attention but Maddie never cared she was too focused on cheer. Maddie graduated and went to Iowa while Caroline left for UConn.

"Why did you leave Iowa?" Caroline asks.

"Caitlin Clark broke my heart," Maddie responds playfully.

Caroline playfully groans.

"I would never break your heart!" Caroline says teasingly.

"You still like me?" Maddie asks.

"How could I not like you? You look even more beautiful than the last time I saw you," Caroline says.

Maddie rolls her eyes and the whistle blows signaling that the break is over.

"I'll see you later!" Caroline says as she's walking away.

Maddie is not going to budge though she settled for a player in Iowa and she's not repeating that in Uconn.

Maddie always hated herself and knowing that her parents didn't support her anymore for dating Caitlin and not some guy made her feel empty. The relationship was toxic with fighting every night.

Maddie was never ready to reveal to the world that she liked a girl and Caitlin wasn't either. So they just ended up breaking up.

During fights, Caitlin would run away and never own up to the problems. Caitlin was careless with Maddie.

She would never listen or pay attention until they ended up fighting Caitlin would go out get flowers and kiss Maddie and hold her then the next day it would be fighting a never-ending cycle.

She could be with Caroline and change everything and be loved but she was scared of putting her heart on the line.
