Chapter 4

My mouth kept on opening and closing. I was amazed and shocked at the same time. I looked over to my side and saw that Cam was having the same expression as I was. I guess I'm not the only one who was surprised.

We went back to school after our little visit at the hospital. We were supposed to be looking for Elizabeth Grey. But much to our disappointment she already left school. Desperate I told Cam that I really need to talk to Elizabeth and using her 'connections' she effortlessly got her address. And so here we are in front of her house. Well I wouldn't call it a house though.

"Are you sure this is the right address?" I asked Cam making sure we aren't lost.

Cam looked unsure for a second then answered. "...Yes."

"You hesitated." I accused.

"No... I did not. I'm sure this is the right address... Is it?" Her voice sounded unsure.

"I don't know. You said you have 'reliable' sources." I mocked by making air quotes at the word.

"Hey don't mock my sources. They are very useful... most of the times." Cam lamely defended.

We paused for a bit to stare at the house still unsure.

"So how do we get in?" Cam asked while looking at the closed gates and the tall fence that seemed to never end.

Now that she mentioned it, how do we get in? I asked myself. I looked around to see if there's anyone around but nothing. Well figures, they don't even have neighbors. Finding Elizabeth's house (if this was even her house) was a bit difficult. They live further away from the nearest town like they were isolated or something. We even asked for directions, but what bothered me were the surprised reactions of the people we've asked. Something felt off, maybe the Grey's doesn't have much visitors I guess.

"Maybe there's a doorbell or something. Let's go look for i-" I stopped when I noticed Cam wasn't beside me anymore and shocked to see her now trying to climb up the fence.

I quickly ran to her side. "Cam what are you doing?"

"I'm drinking tea with the queen from up here. Duh! I'm climbing up the fence to get in. Are you blind or something?" Cam said sarcastically which I choose to ignore.

"Cam! Are you insane? Get down there." I demanded but she completely ignored me and focused on getting to the other side. She was almost at the top but I was trying to stop her by yanking her feet.

"Will you stop that! Just a little bit more." Cam let out a loud sigh. Suddenly she turned to face me, a look of determination on her face. "Paige come a little closer and let me use your shoulder, I'm almost there." Cam said still struggling to get up.

"There's no way I'll help you. Just get down there. You might hurt yourself or worse you might get us in trouble." I said terrified as the realization that we might get in jail for trespassing.

"Wait- what? You think getting in trouble is far worse than your friend getting hurt. It's nice to know you cared about my well-being. You're such a great friend, I'm touched." She rolled her eyes at me.

"We might get in jail for trespassing! Just get down there. Maybe will find another way around." I told Cam almost panicking.

"Well do you see any other way around? And besides, there's no one around." She gestured all over the place and she's right. Maybe no one lives here. Just a big, empty house.

"Look Paige-" She looked at me with a calm yet serious face. "Do you want your answers? I know that this is against your rules and all but the only way for us to find answers is to get into this house."
