"Mommy Mommy! what do you have there?" I say looking at my mother who was by the window

She smiles "Come here Karina" She says

I happily smiled and ran to her arms as lifted me up to her lap as she then shows me a paper of something I will hold cherish forever.

"Woah mama what is this?" I asked her pointing at the paper with different poeples pictures.

"this is our family tree"

"Whats that mama?" I asked looking up at her

"a family tree is generations and generations of our family"

"really? why do you have it mama?" I asked her

"I have it because this is passed down to every generations to share family history and to pass on something dear" she says

"Can I have it??" I asked and she nodded before pointing at the paper at one particular person.

"Look this is your ancestor" she says "you look exactly like her even as a baby"

"But I'm me" I say with a pout "I wanna have my own face"

She chuckles "Don't worry princess your much prettier than our ancestor Jimin"

She then takes something out of her neck and it was a necklace containing a ring.

"Why are you not wearing your ring on your finger mommy?" I asked her

"This isn't a ring engagement" She says

"What is it then?" I asked tilting my head to the right.

"This is a family heirlom" She says "One day I will be giving this to you."

"why?" I prolonged the why

"Because I love you" She says as she kisses my face and i giggled

"One day when you love someone I hope to see you give this to that person. Promise?" She says holding her pinky finger up.

"Promise!" I giggled and laughed.

The memory faded into darkness, swallowing me whole. It was as if I were floating in a void, suspended between consciousness and oblivion. Then, out of nowhere, a searing white light pierced through the blackness, making me flinch. I felt the warmth of the sun against my closed eyelids.

Slowly, I opened my eyes, blinking against the harsh light that flooded my vision. Everything was a blur at first—hazy, unfocused. My head felt heavy, and my limbs were sluggish as if weighed down by the remnants of the dream. I blinked again, once, twice, until the room around me started to take shape, the sunlight pouring through the window, casting golden beams across the floor.
