Looking into those bright blue eyes, Sang raised her dripping hands slowly as though they may ward off attack.
"Please don't hurt me," She whimpered softly. The light from outdoors told her that the Immortals were still resting and of no help.
She was going to die and not the way that she had been expecting.
The large creature didn't move even an inch as its eyes remained locked with her own.
Oh God, She thought with horrified relief. At least it was to be under the teeth of a real wolf and not at the hands of a hybrid for she decided that getting mauled by a wolf would be better than being kidnapped and raped by a rabid creature.
Watching as the wolf's head slowly straightened, Sang suddenly had the overwhelming desire to wedge herself into a corner of the room and begin to weep even though she felt as though the past few days had allowed her to do nothing more than cry.
As the immense beast took its first steps towards her, she whimpered in the back of her throat.
"Why didn't I just stay in the house?"
Her breath froze in her throat as she closed her eyes and waited for that inevitable first bite, that first terrifying pain.
It would be the last thing she felt before she died.
Only...
It didn't happen.
Instead of feeling teeth closing around her wrist, she felt the gentle stroke of a rough tongue.
Her gasp sounded loud as she tried to resist jerking away in case it decided to attack instead.
Again it lapped gently at her skin, the harshness making her flinch slightly – in some animals, even the most affectionate lick could peal human skin.
Slowly she opened to eyes to gaze down in absolute amazement as the large, furry head moved carefully forward until it was pressed into her soft and vulnerable stomach.
"Oh..." She stuttered, unsure what to do.
The wolf didn't seem aggressive but the fact that it was rubbing what was considered the largest at risk target on a human had her heart seizing.
Its chest rumbled as the snout slowly crept up from her bully button to rest in the space between her breasts.
Looking down into those magnetic blue eyes, Sang couldn't help but understand that for this moment, it wasn't a danger to her.
"Hello," She whispered, cautiously lifting a hand so that it rested between its ears.
It chuffed and she somehow knew that it was a male and that he was weirdly fascinated with her presence in the Immortals' territory.
"I'm not exactly sure what to do now," She muttered, slipping to the side as a gentle indication that she wanted for him to back up slightly.
As he stepped away she grabbed out her dripping clothing and waved hesitantly at the doorway, relieved when he preceded her exit out onto the porch.
It was without surprise that she saw no sort of clothesline, "What do I do with these?"
The wolf stood at attention in front of the door, its head turned to watch as she huffed and blithely threw them over the railing. If she was to stay for any amount of time, the Immortals were either going to have to install a washing machine and dryer or ensure that she had access to more clothing.
Once she stood beside her new companion she placed a hand over the door handle, "They are so going to kill me."
She pulled it open and waited for the wolf – she was going to have to consider giving it a name during its time with her – to carelessly trot over the hardwood floors.
She gaped slightly at its apparent nonchalance and began to wonder if the creature could actually be another other creature – which she had just stupidly allowed into the home of her current keepers.
Could that be a good or bad thing?
She shook her head and followed, admiring the way that his fur appeared soft and touchable in the streaming sunlight.
"Are you hungry?" She asked as they ventured into the gleaming and weirdly empty kitchen. It was odd to see the space bare of all of the normal appliances except for a fridge.
"Ok, even if you are hungry there might not being anything here."
The grumble was a depressed confession before she noticed a piece of paper neatly folded on the bench.
Picking it up, she dropped a distracted hand onto the back of the wolf.
"Sang, in the time before dawn, my brother and I were able to locate and collect a variety of foods which we hope will be sufficient until we awaken. Enjoy the sunlight, Lucian."
She didn't fight the smile that tipped the edges of her mouth, "That was sweet of them." Even though it had taken them almost too long to remember that she needed to eat food that wasn't of the disgusting liquid variety.
She turned towards the fridge with an excited sense of expectation, hoping that there was something she could easily share with her unexpected guest.
"What the..." She exclaimed, her eyes widening as she noticed an unopened bag of sugar sitting on the top shelf with another note attached, the text on this one different.
"Sang, contrary to what my brother believes is edible, I have a feeling that you should avoid consuming this product. Please search the crisper for vegetables and fruit which I have attained. North."
She looked down as the wolf turned its head up, "Wow."
