The night was heavy with tension, a stark contrast to the usual calm that settled over the Advanced Nurturing High School campus. Kiyotaka Ayanokoji moved through the dimly lit hallways with purpose, his expression unreadable, his mind sharp and focused. The events of the past few days had been building up to this moment, and he knew it was time to confront what had been looming on the horizon.
Suzune Horikita had been missing for hours. When she failed to return to her dorm after class, Kiyotaka's instincts had immediately kicked in. It didn't take long for him to piece together what had happened. Ryuuen Kakeru, the ruthless leader of Class C, had been tightening his grip on Class D, pushing them to the brink. Suzune, determined as always, had likely confronted him head-on, and now she was paying the price.
Kiyotaka's footsteps echoed in the silence as he approached the old, abandoned building at the edge of the campus. It was a place few students ventured to, a relic from before the school's expansion. The perfect spot for someone like Ryuuen to carry out his twisted games.
He slipped inside, navigating the dark, narrow corridors with ease. His senses were on high alert, his every movement calculated. The sound of muffled voices reached his ears, and he followed them, his heart rate steady despite the anger simmering beneath his calm exterior.
As he drew closer, he heard it—Suzune's voice, strained and desperate, followed by cruel laughter. Kiyotaka's eyes narrowed as he quickened his pace. He reached a large room at the end of the hallway, the door slightly ajar. Inside, the scene that greeted him was one that would have sent most people into a blind rage.
Suzune was tied to a chair in the center of the room, her clothes drenched, her breathing ragged. A large bucket of water sat nearby, and one of Ryuuen's lackeys was holding a towel that was soaked through. It didn't take much to realize what they had been doing to her.
Ryuuen stood a few feet away, watching with a twisted smile on his face. His goons—Ibuki, Ishizaki, and Albert—were nearby, their expressions varying from amused to indifferent. This was just another game to them, another power play to assert their dominance over those they deemed weaker.
Kiyotaka stepped into the room, his presence immediately drawing their attention. Ryuuen's smile widened as he noticed him, as if he had been expecting this very moment.
"Well, well, look who's here," Ryuuen drawled, his voice dripping with mockery. "Ayanokoji-kun, the mysterious genius of Class D. Come to save your damsel in distress?"
Kiyotaka didn't respond. His eyes were locked on Suzune, who was struggling to keep her head up. She was battered, her usually sharp gaze clouded with exhaustion and pain, but she was still conscious, still fighting.
"Let her go," Kiyotaka said, his voice calm, but with an undertone that sent a chill through the room.
Ryuuen chuckled darkly, clearly unfazed. "You think you can just waltz in here and give orders? You're outnumbered, Ayanokoji. You might be smart, but you're not invincible."
Kiyotaka's gaze shifted to the others in the room, sizing them up with a quick, calculated glance. He knew exactly what he was up against, and he knew exactly what he was going to do.
"I'm giving you one chance," Kiyotaka said, his tone deadly serious. "Walk away now, and I won't hurt you."
The room was silent for a moment, and then Ryuuen burst out laughing. His laughter was echoed by his gang, the sound bouncing off the walls in the dimly lit space.
"You're funny, Ayanokoji," Ryuuen said, wiping a tear from the corner of his eye. "But you're also delusional if you think you can take us all on."
Kiyotaka didn't hesitate. In one fluid motion, he lunged forward, his body moving with the precision and speed of someone who had trained for this moment his entire life. His first target was Ishizaki, who barely had time to react before Kiyotaka's fist connected with his gut. Ishizaki doubled over, gasping for air, but Kiyotaka didn't stop there. He grabbed Ishizaki by the collar and slammed him into the wall, knocking him out cold.
